It seems that Keith got his wish and the Du'lora, Hashalaq, and Kalaraq quori from Dragon issue 324 got their mental stat upgrades. But was that all that was changed?

First of all, the Du'lora has been renamed to Du'ulora for some reason. And it's psi-like abilities now include augmentation (which might actually be my doing! I pointed out on the boards a while back that all the published Quori to date forgot to automatically augment their psi-like abilities according to their manifester level. I suppose someone could have realized the mistake on their own, but a man can dream :P)
The Du'ulora also has a new Psionic Rage psi-like ability. Curiously though, it's "Fury Aura" (renamed from "Aura of Fury") no longer mentions anything about the quori deciding the target of the victim's rage. I'm guessing that's an oversight cause it seriously weakens the ability. Now it merely makes your enemies stronger and only seriously effects casters who many not cast spells while enraged.
Coupled with the huge increase in CR (from 8 to 11), with no increase in HD, it just seems weird that they'd nerf the monster's key ability (to be able to cause characters to fight for it).

I haven't gotten around to the other Quori in SoS really in detail, but I'm interested if anyone else noticed any changes.

I'm sorry, your Kalashtar avatar prevents you from dreaming. ;)

Touche, salesman. :P

Also, just looked over the other two quori, and they seem to legitimately deserve their Challenge Rating bump, with extra supernatural and psi-like abilities (Plus the Kalaraq's focused mind seed is properly explained this time).

So really the Du'ulora is the odd man (thing) out this time. I'll use the old version, thank-you-very-much.

Also, I just noticed, but all the Quori suddenly have a weakness to Crysteel. Doesn't that just seem wrong to you? Inspired make crysteel, and as far as I can tell are the only ones who do. Why would they forge weapons that can hurt them? It doesn't make any sense (and doesn't match up with the Tsucora, Tsoreva, and "usvapna" Dream Master quori).

I think I'll be changing that to "raw" deep crystal weapons in my game.

actually i can see it making sense. think about humans. we make weapons specifically designed to hurt other humans. it's in our nature to create what we call defensive weapons. same could go for them. although i do think it's kind of silly but i can explain it.

I have a mostly unrelated question, but I think the people on this thread could do a good job of answering, so:

Can Dal Quor ever touch Eberron through a Wild Zone? SoS seems to imply that it can't... all of the Eberron material seems to imply that it can't. But then there's the comic page in the back of SoS where the character encounters a Quori in a Wild Zone. What's the deal?

Actually, perhaps it's because they make Crysteel that it can hurt them. The substance resonnates with psionic powers, allowing psionic characters a +1 enhancement bonus on damage rolls with crysteel weapons. So the naturally psionic Quori make weapons that are useful to them. Since the Crysteel is still partially attuned to them, it can damage their psionic energy structure.

Also, since they themselves make the Crysteel and it can harm them, I assume this means they try to keep control over the production and distribution of Crysteel, and would definetly monopolize the distribution of Crysteel weapons to keep tabs on them.

Well, at first it was utterly impossible for the Quori to manifest or even possess anyone on Eberron, due to the planar seperation caused by the Dragons and Giants. The Pre-Kalashtar Quori only came to Eberron through a Manifest zone in Adar, and transferred themselves to Eberron by shattering themselves into the Kalashtar.

The Quori needed centuries of manipulating bloodlines to create the Empty Vessels so they could act directly on Eberron, and have since been creating the massive Riedran Monoliths to further increase the connection between Dal Quor and Eberron.

Hmm, that's not a bad angle Romulus. I guess if the forging process involves quori psychic energy somehow, it would explain their weakness to it. Thanks! Guess my creativity was blocked by the issues I saw with the Du'ulora being changed. :P
