I'm begining an Eberron campaign next week (starting at lvl 10) and having a bit of trouble with party composition. One of my PCs wants to play a WF Juggernaut, but none of my other PCs are willing to play an Artificer or spend spell list slots on Repair spells.

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a self-suffecient WF Juggernaut? It's looking like Artificer/7 Juggernaut/3 is about the only possibility? A WF Paladin variant might also work, but not sure if it'd be as effective over all?

the most common item are repair oils and using a warforged repair kit (Remember it can fix itself if its awake).

Also I've found customizing certain healing items to where they are repair items instead is not difficult as it changes the required spell and the fluff text a bit.

There are also a feat the warforged can pick up from the players guide to eberron that will let him heal a certain amount of damage.

It really isnt overly difficult to do with the gp value of a 10th level character.

You cold buy a few eternal wands of repair, and hand them out to who ever has the spell on their list. That would solve the problem partly...

Got a couple of ideas for this...

First thing I can think of is the Monk class combined with Juggernaut, use the natural healing there. Of course there will be some issues with how things fit together (adamantine body vs the monk benefits).

Second idea is for the guy to get a wand sheath for his character and only load it with repair wands, then "gently" remind the other players if they suggest he put other wands in there that they weren't too willing to meet him halfway either. Of course for that he'll have to either spend money on additional wands or wands of repair ________ damage will have to show up a lot when it's time to loot.

The third thing I'm not so sure about but it's worth looking at. If memory serves its the Docent out of the campaign setting. From what I remember if he goes negative it heals him back to at least 0 and it may impart some healing if he's below his max hit points. I honestly don't remember exactly what that one does but it may be worth looking into.

Granted they're not the easiest ideas to work with in each case but it is something to consider.

Try a dip into the crusader or psy war class. GIve yourself a decent cha then pick up Leadership or have your party members do the same thing. Arcane casters can offheal with repair at times. Psions can heal you.

Yeah, easiest answer is to have the character simply keep his craft check maxxed out with a WF Repair Kit and repair himself while everyone else sleeps. And keep an eternal wand of Repair X Damage around for when he goes down in combat.

Any arcane caster can use the wand, as can any artificers, and even some clerics, so it shouldn't be hard finding somebody to use it on him.

Maybe be a psionic shaper?

Something like....

fighter 2/shaper 4/illithid slayer 9/warforged juggernaut 5.

Err... with the levels rearranged a bit, perhaps.

Get minor creation to make plant-based poisons like black lotus extract to which you're immune, and grab psionic repair damage. Since you'll probably max out some sort of craft skill like craft (armorsmithing), fabricate could be useful too.

Getting into illithid slayer could be tough, though. Perhaps if you could persuade your DM to accept it with modifications to reduce its power and generally allow it as a generic psi-gish?

At 10th level?

If you go Artificer 4/Fighter 2/WFJ 4 you end up with a bab of +8/+3, HP close to full fighters types, some self repair, ok skills for some levels (artificer), chances at racial sub levels, other kinds of goodies.

I normally dont think about playing WF or artificers, I am boring that way, but this guy sounds interesting.

Good luck,

Tell the party wizard/sorceror/whatever that they should stock up on repair spells if they knows what's good for 'em :evillaugh

Psychic Warrior 7 qualifies to be a Jughead. Expanded Knowledge(Psionic Repair Damage) handles the self-healing issue.

Also the Divine Mind class (from C Psionic) with the creation mantle gives you an aura that grants fast healing to constructs.
