are pretty much bludgeoning weapons the best choice for a shifter? (if there is a weapon i should choose for flavor, can someone tell me?) other than that, i should get like a greatclub or something, right? or should i just go without one, and save up for better equipment?

(this is assumming, that the shifter has the razorclaw feat and a bow)

:yuck: greatclubs are horrible weapons, they really should be simple, and free like clubs, they don't even have spikes on them like in their picture.

According to RoE shifter fluff, shifters would prefer a few reliable well made items that they can carry on them in preference to many smaller items.

I had a shifter scout who had a love for the bastard sword. Had a adamantine one that he just loved. Came in more handy then any other thing he own and that includes his thieves' tools. That is saying a lot for the party rogue. II even fought a weapon grabbing mohrg for it. Bastard grabbed my sword right out of my hand right after grabbing be out of a door way.

Shifters like living in the forest and an axe is a lot more useful in the forest than a sword is.

TWF shifter rangers should really be using hand axes.

Or Machetes. Conjures an interesting image of a dual-machete wielding shifter ranger... and I promise you, I'm trying my hardest to avoid a Drizz't reference. Even though I just made one. Darn.

If the shifter were a longtooth or razorclaw though, I could see them rationalizing carrying just a light back up weapon (like a handaxe) or even just a ranged weapon, or no weapon at all if they didn't expect to fight frequently.

I your looking for a good weapon think about where the character has been. Many characters pick up weapons that the others around then use. Question to ask your self about the character; was he in the last war, what areas has he traveled in, and what class areyou going?
