Shifters and wildshape [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-10-07, 03:06 PM My first time druid, also a shifter (razorclaw), is 2 levels away from wildshape and this has caused me to think of a few things. If someone could answer these, or point me in the right direction for an answer that would be great.

1. If I wildshape into a wolf for example, with a bite attack, THEN I shift would I still gain a claw attack with all the conditions, restrictions etc.. of a secondary natural attack?

2. Would the feats Razorclaw elite, and Great rend work even with out shifting, say if I was wildshaped into an animal with claw attacks? there is not "While shifting" bit added to either feats description.

3. Would the the die rolled for damge with great rend scale with Improved natural attack (claw)? I.e. would it also become a d6?

4. with two weapon fighting would you still be limited to only one attack per claw in any single round? Or is this what shifter multi attack is for?

sorry if these are simple questions, as I said first time shifter and first time druid all at once!

05-10-07, 05:44 PM first dont take wild shape take the racial sub lvls for a razorclaw shifter druid it ROCKS!!!! My shifter is a 5th lvl shifter druid/ war shaper 3/weretouched master 1. He has a 28 str when he shift's and can attack with both claws when he charges.. his dmg is 2D6+13 each claw with a +16 and +14 attack

2. No

3. Yes

4. Shifter Multiattack is the feat you want!

05-13-07, 06:47 PM um, it's a natural attack. you NEVER get more than one attack with it. period. Manufactured weapons are the only ones that get more than one attack with that weapon.

3. No. Maybe it should, but those aren't the rules.

4. Yes. TWF is irrelevant to natural weapons. Multiattack reduces the BAB penalty on secondary attacks, but it still only allows one attack per natural weapon on a full attack.

PS. snake, both your claws attacks are primary natural attacks and use the same attack bonus.

Snake- I already plan to take that and improved natural attack as soon as I can. still need to fit in Extend spell too I think.

05-17-07, 10:39 PM 3: No, that is not how it works RAW, but I think that a house rule would be perfectly acceptable in this instance. I mean, it makes you do what an average of +1 or 2 damage when you rend? just talk to your DM first, it's his call. :P
