HAGALAZ 12-11-07, 06:06 PM	So I have the Races of Eberron book, and I decided to write a little story, I just want to get more educated on the shifter race. Anyone got any references for me? -H
skrap-san 12-12-07, 01:47 AM	I have always seen Wolverine from X-men as a cool shifter concept. Other than that I recommend races of Eberron for a good look into the race and its mentality.
Kreistor2 12-12-07, 03:36 AM	He, Skrap-san, I think he just said he owns that one. There's not a lot written about shifters, Hagalaz, or any race for that matter. You'll find the Eberron Campaign Setting useful, but beyond that and your RoE, there's just not a lot. There are a couple pages in the Player's Guide to Eberron, but I doubt there's anything there that RoE doesn't cover. Only the ECS would provide any historical background info.
skrap-san 12-12-07, 04:45 AM	Ah my bad, i thought he said he had the campaign setting. And I have agree with you, until there comes out a book that deals with all the nations of Koihvare there isn't that much fluff about shifters.
Arryn 12-12-07, 08:02 AM	If you have a lot of free time on your hands, you could always read the Dragon Below trilogy by Don Bassingthwaite. One of the main characters is a Shifter named Geth. There's some interesting flavor stuff in there for the race, including a unique set of Shifter curses. I reccommend it.
Assariel 12-13-07, 03:44 PM	I've got the impression that shifters do not get the love they deserve in publications. :) I like this race very much but between warforged and changelings there seems not to be enough space. But I didn't know there was a shifter in the Dragon Below Trilogy. Guess I have to read this one. ;)
skrap-san 12-13-07, 03:52 PM	I agree with Assariel, changeling is a bit forgotten. I havent read to many books other than campaign books. But it would seem that the source books also tend to forget them.
Arcane Guyver 12-13-07, 04:24 PM	Another okay example of a shifter-like character would be Aisha Clan-Clan from Outlaw Star (Beasthide & Razorclaw). Shifters are probably one of the easiest races to 'get.' They're the guys who lope around on all fours (though it's not necessary), use all sorts of hunting analogies in daily routine, and generally have a hard time making non-shifter friends because they appear so predatory.
