size S, 30ft move [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-02-07, 03:35 PM Hi All,
I had this idea to make an NPC group for my Eberron campaign composed solely of small yet fast NPCs. So I'm looking for size S humanoids (or monstrous humanoids) that have 30ft movement. I know Goblins and Kobolds fit this. I also found Poison Dusk Lizardfolk (MM3) have this trait. Are there any others? Thanks for any help.

Kobold (w/ Fast trait), boots of springing and striding with a quick amulet and the dash feat. :D

60ft. as a move action.

And that's before items of expeditious retreat, monk levels or anything like that... :D

Greenspawn Sneak, Move 30'. Whitespawn Hordeling, Move 40'. MM4

11-03-07, 10:26 AM Small races with a level in Barbarian, a couple of levels in Monk, Avenging Druid variant in UA, or a couple levels in the Martial Ranger variant in Complete Warrior. There's also various spells that can be used by a caster or taken from scrolls.

All ways of increasing speed without giving the PCs access to boots of Striding and Springing should they defeat the NPC(s) and decide to loot the body.

11-05-07, 06:52 PM I believe he understands that speed can be enhanced via magic and class abilities, but that he's looking for something that is naturally fast as a race. Because all of these boosts that would get the slower races up to normal speed can just as easily be put on a faster small race to make them even faster.

They do - and they are mentioned in the Players Guide to Eberron, page 69. You can find their stats on the Wizards site.

I have one in my campaign who is a swordsage/ninja/assassin who played sort of a "V for Vendetta" type character who was working against the Trust. Came out nicely.
