How would a Sohei play out in an Eberron capmaign setting, and which multiclasses (if any) and prestige classes would make this character a magical powerhouse?

Do you just want the Sohei mechanics, or do you want all the associated fluff?

The fluff too. I was thinking of taking proficiency with the
Lance and fight without a horse...

Okay then.

well first off, it's a mix of divine spellcasting and martial prowess. Just about every faith in Eberron that has Paladins and/or Monks should count Sohei amongst their numbers. Followers of Dol Dorn, Dol Arrah, and the Silver Flame are more obvious cantidates. The majority would of course choose weapon focus with their faith's favored weapon. With the Bonus to both Strength and Dexterity granted by a Soheri's Frenzy, a Sohei of the Silver Flame with a composite longbow could become very deadly.

Personally, I really like the idea of those taking the Sohei class being most prominent amongst Orcs, considering the Sohei's "frenzy" and damage reduction, which reflect the Orc and Half-Orc's favored class: Barbarian and it's Rage and DR abilities.

The Gatekeeper Druids are divine casters who protect the Shadow Marches and the world from Aberrations. In addition to the magical abilities of the Druids, they would count Sohei amongst their ranks- the ones who take the fight directly to the minions of the Daelkyr who roam the swamps and Khyber.

Then there's the Kalok Shashn that gaurd the Demon Wastes. They draw upon the same divine power as the Church of the Silver Flame, to keep the fiends contained in the Demon wastes and prevent outsiders from getting in. Both Paladins and Sohei could be examples of the many approaches these divinely tasked guardians take.

As far as becoming a magical powerhouse... I don't think that's possile in a relative sense with the Sohei. They have limited spell progression, maxing out at 4th level spells. If you want to increase your spellcasting abilities, you can go with a couple of levels in Cleric or Druid, but you won't be a "powerhouse" compared to a "pure" Cleric or Druid.

Hope that helped.

It did...but I still need a descent PrCthat provides both combat prowess and possibly divine attacks and class features (this is the sense of "powerhouse" I was coming from. I only want a very capable fighter with some interesting Divine [or any magical] attacks to back up his culture).

Pious Templar from Complete Divine might be something you want to look at. Mettle gives you a full Base Attackl Bonus, yet more defenses against magic and certain effects, you gain Smite, more Damage Reduction, and similar limited divine spell progression. Plus, one of the requirements is Weapon Focus in your faith/deity's chosen weapon, which a Sohei gets for free.

Sacred Fist would give you full Base Attack bonus, Unarmored Armor and Speed bonuses, Unarmed Damage, and continued spell progression. It would require you take lots of feats related to unarmed combat though. The Flame Motif would work well for the Silver Flame and Kalok Shasn.

Ordained Champion from Complete Champion, if your DM can get rid of the requirement that your character worship Hextor or Heironous (such silliness shouldn't be in a core book anyway). You get full BaB, the War Domain, Spontaneous Casting, the ability to channel spells into your melee weapon, and other goodies.

On ordained champion, simple religion swap to setting. Must worship Dol Arrah, Dol Dorn, or The Mockery.
