Soverign Speaker eventually Heir of Sybiris [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-23-07, 01:44 AM Just wanted some thoughts on the character thats developed since level 1. This is our first Campaign in Eberron. Most have been in Faerun. Other party members Human monk/mage, Half-Orc Druid, Elf Rogue

Cleric 6 / Sovereign Speaker 4 going to eventually be Cleric 12 / Sovereign Speaker 5/ Heir of Sybiris 3

A halfling of Jorasco who did not get his mark and still wanting to be a healer in the War studied with the the church but did not finish his training before it ended and has now taken to adventuring and spreading the joys of the host.

:confused: As for feats Heroic Channeling, Worldly focus, Domain Focus, Heroic Spirit, Combat Casting( bonus from DM)

Domains
Force, Travel, Charm, War, Healing, Glory

For my min 15 ranks in two skill I been hitting Knowlege Religon, History

05-26-07, 12:00 PM Speaker is one of my favorite Prc, but I don't really know why you would choose not to take all 9 levels of it. Yeah you lose two levels of casting to it but having all of those domains is nice for several reasons. First, you get more granted abilities. Second, you get a wider spell selection depending on which domains you pick (which will be especially helpful for picking up some useful arcane spells since your monk/mage's selection will be limited at best). Third, it lets you customize the the image you're trying to portray and play, rather than just being "the cleric". I also think you should strongly consider the taking the Spontaineous Domain Alternate Class Feature in the PHB2. In your case, especially, you should pick your healing domain. This gives you more healing kick, since you can cast the 5th thru 9th lvl healing spells as well as cure wounds 1 thru 4 like your typical positive energy cleric. Other feats you might consider would be Augment healing (PHB) [this may not seem like much at first but it will definately add up over time], Spontaineous Domain (Complete Divine) [this would be useful for one or more of the many domains you pick up that you find really useful], Practiced Caster (both Complete Divine and Complete Arcane) [this will keep your caster level on par since you will lose 2-3 caster lvls throughout your career, so maybe take it at lvl 12].
A different route you could take, if you really wanted to emphasize your wanting to be a Jorasco, is to work with your DM to adapt the Radiant Servant of Pelor Prc from Complete Divine. That may sound difficult but its really not that hard. Its even mentioned in Faiths of Eberron right before the Speaker Prc. There are a couple of threads on here that have dealt with it before, though I can't recall their URLs. Anyways, from what I can remember is that it can be fitted fairly well to the Soverign Host, Silver Flame, Undying Council, or Dol Arrah.
Either way, the Halfling of Righteous ass whoopin' and Healing Might, has been a favorite concept of mine for quite some time. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you. Host be with you. :D

Personally I think not going all the way with that particular Prc is a pretty strong statement about both the player and the character.

To me the Character says "This is what I believe, and this is the path I walk. Fate had other plans for me." And just from my point of view, Khaz's decision says "I'm giving up ultimate power for 'in character' choices"

I may be a bit of an elitist, but I've seen the speaker class, and I both love and fear it for it's power.

Khaz, I love your concept and level choices. Well done! Though I am curious...What else can you say about your character?

Thank you for all your input.
I did like the Radiant servant of (Jorasco) idea and it gave me many ideas for future games.
I miss wrote one of my feats I do have Domain Spontaneity (force) not Domain Focus.
I can basically swap out a lot of force spells since I can use action points for the swap via Heroic Channeling and I have 14 pts this lvl via Heroic Spirit. With another Cleric in the group I would be all over the alternate spontaneous domains I didn't want to continue losing newer spell lvls one of the reasons I did not continue lvling So Sp I would have kept going but I knew I would lose another lvl in Heir of Sybiris. I had the concept from learning about the Dragon marks and the Sybiris from the get go the So Sp PrC was sort of a quick patch since I was committed to the cleric and our Mage bailed.

I was about to take Divine Meta Magic as a feat and then read the eratta to Complete Divine. My DM hasn't seen it nor is it likely he will but I thought it seemed a great deal overpowered.

The Practiced Caster is looking pretty good

Yeah gone By Slimenstra on WoW since release. I kicked the habit havent eve loaded my collectors expansion. LOL

Khaz, I love your concept and level choices. Well done! Though I am curious...What else can you say about your character?

Ouzo'tiectivim of House Jorasco "Ouzo"
He is sort of a wannabe / poser. He Is currently in Talentia finding his root he had a childhood friends in the other halfling house who's grandfather told me of the plains till my parents had enough of his "corruption" Growing up in Sharn he was a little pampered his parents both well marked members of the house as well as his Siblings he was a sore disappointment to be unmarked so rather then be a black sheep he found other endeavors . Along our way he retrieved an intellegent Tangat named "Salla" I want to take it home on the way while still tracking down the bleeding scimitarn stolen from Sharn (NO SPOILERS PLEASE I know this is from packed adventures as a base though we are off book now)

Of late after seeing the druids shape changing and animal summonings he has gotten a bit of melee in via Garillion's Blessing with Divine Power

And of course when he was more then happy to draw cards to have his"future" read by a Talentia gypsy circus. Deck of many things:eek:

Most everything cancelled each other out but got 10k xp and a new dagger unknown use at this time

06-18-07, 03:12 PM After losing a companion in battle he has seen the error of his ways in combat via a nasty run in with the King of Karrnath, his guards were left behind to dispose of us.
Ouzo has a bit of a habit of being too trusting and opened up to him
He has since refocused on the clerical duties 7 cleric/5 SS at the moment next level in Heir of Sybiris.
We are headed into the Demon wastes seeking a blade, a golden blade that was brought to us for a moment via a wish from that unexpected deck and a flickering visualization. I wished "..The missing sword was here laying infront of me" it appeared but instead of the bleeding scimitar that we have come to know as belonging to Vol's mother. It was said Golden blade bearing my holy symbol. We realized how important the golden blade was first when a dragon showed up looking for it. He ate a portion of a halfling tribe in the process we escaped after explaining to him that sensing its presence was a flook. The D.M. may have been a bit kind in this instance. We then found in a library at our monks monetary that the golden blade was useed to defeat vol and forged in the same forge as hers. Since the scimitar was found in the Demon Wastes we thought perhaps it was hidden or we may find some clues there the dragon let it slip it has to be hidden on this plane.
