Spell Storing Item and XP [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-20-07, 01:44 PM A quick question about the artificer's Spell Storing Item infusion. Infusing an item with this infusion costs XP to cast, but can this XP cost come out of the artificer's Item Creation Pool? In essence, its creating a temporary magic item, so arguably it would work, but its cast and infusion, so it shouldn't. Which way does this go?

04-20-07, 01:58 PM RAW, it doesn't work - infusion is not item creation. However, many people houserule that the artificer's craft pool may be used as XP components for any infusions that require them.
