I'd propose the following abilties for a "Bat" based WTM: 1. Weretouched I: Gain +2 Dex and a flight speed of 20 (Average) while shifting; if the shifter already has a flight speed while shifting then add 10 feet to it (this enables Swiftwing Elite to bring flight to 40' (Good), equal to a Dire Bat). 2. Weretouched II: Gain Blindsense 40' (Always useful, and an ability held by Dire Bats of course) 3. Alternate Form stat mods (as per the WTM errata) +2 Dex +2 Str +2 Con (My rationale for not going with a straight +6 Dex here is that Dire Bat lycanthropes grant +6 Str, +12 Dex, and +6 Con, and this keeps the ratios the same when all 5 levels of WTM are factored in (+2 Str, +4 Dex, +2 Con). I looked again at my build for a Ranger/WildernessRogue/WTM, and this setup enables me to build a character that I would label "playable". What do you think? - Ron ^*^ |

Tough to tell sometimes with shifters and their feats/abilities. The only trouble with this setup is the number of times throughout the campaign you'll be hitting yourself in the head and thinking, "I coulda gone with TIGER!" But I think that's the case for pretty much any other type of WTM as well... - Ron ^*^ |

Now if you'd gone with Rat, I could understand ;) You can only do fly-by attacks if you budget for the feat, and that ain't easy considering you're going to want a bite attack to make the fly-by possible in the first place (and longtooth elite to make it EFFECTIVE). There's just so much jaw-dropping nastiness you can to with the tiger build, pouncing with Shifter Savagery, Leap Attack, in rhino hide armor, with longtooth elite and great bite... Ouch. - Ron ^*^ |
