'Shadow sibling' is listed as a type of symbiont in Magic of Eberron, but I can't for the life of me find out where it says how a Daelkyr half-blood gets one. Can someone help me out?

It's not listed & has yet to be addressed in any eratta.

Hmmm... Any suggestions from Eberron-savvy players/DMs then?

Born with one? Get one as a feat? Get one as a result of close contact with Daelkyr? Include it in the half-blood's symbiont upgrade chain?

I'd include it on the last level of the upgrade list. It's a fairly potent symbiont.

IIRC from the creature description it has a +2 Will save that should be +3 since it is a 2HD aberrant with the appropriate WIS score.

Maybe it was never intended to be gained this way, but only listed as another symbiont to use when the PCs are up against the daelkyr, like the living breastplate.

Edit: Do note that I do not have my book with me right now.

Its priced in Magic of Ebberon at 10000 gp or something like that, the same as a Tentacle Whip. If you want to house rule it in, put in the same band as the Whip.

(1) The living breastplate is artifact level item (and i can see why personally and it figures that it cant be grown.)
(2) the whip and the shadow sibling cost 8,000 so it would be logical to put it on the 10th level
(3) we know it can be grown by a half blood from the descripion " a shadow sibling is a twin of the daelkyr half-blood with which it was birthed, or...."
(4) Kid SixXx, i think you might be getting confused with something else as it only has 1hd, and the spell worm has a +3 will save (with 1 hd), but what does that have to do with anything?

I suppose I was trying to say that the sibling is a tad more potent than the book actually says, so it should be on a high tier.
