I've always wanted a character that ravaged trhough rages and caused unbelievable devistation without any armor or weapons and acomplished this with his own physical strength. What might be the best way(s) to make a character build of this type of combat ability?

Barbarian Frenzied berserker with unarmed damage and Sunder feats.

And as a race, a Shifter with a STR increase (if such exists, my ECS is currently some 300 miles away), and possibly Weretouched?

I believe the Claw version has one...

weretouched master (Tiger) gives you pounce which is very useful.

If your going to add in movement scout might also be considered.

What does Gorebrute (or whatever the name of the one that gives you a headbutt attack) grant again (and is it in ECS or RoE)? Con or Str? I hate not having my books on hand. I hope it's the latter. Claw would still work, but Hulk is more bludgeoning...

Beasthide Shifter Barbarian/Frenzied Berserker.
Of course, like the Hulk, you'd be just as likely to turn on your friends as your enemies, which is why most DMs won't allow the FB into their games in the first place. But, as a purely intellectual excersize, yeah.

Race:Goliath (ROS)
Class(es):
Barbarian 10 (first racial sub level, when raging becomes large)
Warhulk 10 (mini book)
Frenzied Breserker (if you really want to and are allowed replace some barbarian levels with FB...)

Why this is the HULK
Goliath have streght bonuses, bonuses to climb and can jump from still as if they run (my old goliath Character jumped for 20-30 feet easily).

Warhulk requires the charater to be Large size or larger, but a DM may accept that when the goliath barbarian (with mountain rage) is raging he/she meets the requirements and as such can A)take levels of Warhulk and B) when raging (and becoming large) he/she gets the class abilities from the warhulk (massive boost to strenght and others...)

so, in a nut shell, you are "just" a normal Barbarian, "amiable" and able to have a chat with people without eating them...
but everytime you rage you become the hulk.

in this version you still have control of when you rage, you can take frenzied berserker to reflect the inability to control your rages (you get damage and have to resist turning in a large, raging and frenzying warhulk)

add Leap attach, power attach, improved unarmed strike, Shock trooper, knock back (ROS)
buy boots of striding and springing
... GOLIATH SMASH!!!
:o)

When in HULK form:
STR: 18 (original) +4 (racial adjustment) +20 (warhulk)+ 6 (mountain rage) +4 ( from levels) + 6 (magic Item)= 58!!

Jump: +24 (str bonus)+23 (ranks)+ 4 (barbarian movement bonus) + 9 (boots)= +60!!

To hit (unarmed): +10 (BAB)+24 (str)-1(size)= +33

Unarmed strike damage (full power attack, plus leap attack,Shock trooper and knockback) 1d6 (large size fist)+24 (str)+ 20 (power attack and leap attack)= 1d6+44 (potential death by massive damage) :)

Awaken a bear.

Shave it.

Paint it green, train it in Barbarian class levels and give it a pair of Pants of Ogre Strength +6.

Don't forget the Berserker Strength Variant from PHB2 ;)

Much closer to the Hulk standard of only going berserk when taking damage and usable from 1st level.

I've done the warhulk build and currently have the character at level 7 in a game.

Theres alot of things you will need to consider with this build. The most important thing to realize is that you will have no AC in this build.

My build is Barbarian 2/Fighter 4/Warhulk 10/Frenzied Berserker 3. 19 + 1 for goliath.

1. Barbarian - Racial substitution level Mountain Rage, Improved Weapon Familiairty(For Goliath Greathammer, if you dont want this weapon replace with Extra Rage).
2. Fighter 1 - Power Attack
3. Barbarian 2 - Extra rage (if you didnt take it before), if you did take it before, use Reckless Rage.
4. Fighter 2 - Cleave
5. Fighter 3
6. Fighter 4 - Leap Attack, Powerful Charge.
7. Warhulk 1
8. Warhulk 2
9. Warhulk 3 - Hurling Charge.
10. Warhulk 4
11. Warhulk 5
12. Warhulk 6 - Destructive Rage.
13. Warhulk 7
14. Warhulk 8
15. Warhulk 9 - Intimidating Rage.
16. Warhulk 10
17. Frenzied Berserker 1
18. Frenzied Berserker 2 - Greater Powerful Charge.
19. Frenzied Berserker 3
