| geldria04-06-07, 03:50 PM | does a thrikeen gain any bonuses to grapple cause he has 4 arms ? example i am a thrikeen monk. 6/monk - 2/thrikeen 8th level charector. i have the multiattack feat so befor i even take a level of monk i have 5 attacks bit being -5 to hit. 1)my DM says it is wrong that when grappled i cannot use all five of my attacks to break the grapple assuming i fail to beak the grapple each attack on my turn. 2) says i get no bonus's for either grappling or opposed grapple checks. 3) when viewing TRIP feat a for legged creature gets a +4 bonus to being triped +2 for each extra leg it has. 4) i ask this cause the monster im upgainst has 18 grapple and has me pinned and doing a good ammount of damage to me and i have less then 1/2 my life. also this monster has multiple attacks. and i beive it is unfair to kill me off with out allowing for my extra limbs to prevent such a death. 5) my friend also pointed out that me getting a +4 bonus to resist being grappled also come at the cost of 2 monterous levels and not class levels. are there any legal ways to justify my getting a bonus to resist grapple cause of my 4 limbs, or am i unjustified and should just accept the consequences of running in battle as a normal homanoid with out extra limbs? |

| UnderworldLord04-06-07, 11:14 PM | Actually I believe there is a blanket bonus to swim and grapple checks, maybe climb checks, for extra limbs like this. I ran into it while playing with aberrant feats, but I can't recall/find where I found it. Sorry, looks like you'll be rerolling. |
| Cifer04-08-07, 12:51 PM | Edy has already said it, but just to reiterate because I like the sentence: If it doesn't say so in the racial traits, you don't get it. Otherwise, well, my Cannith artificer is sponsored by his family, so he should start play with a +5 weapon, shouldn't he? |
| Raziel_Brokodar04-08-07, 07:09 PM | Do you see anything in their racial entry that says they get bonuses to grapple checks? If not, then they don't. That sounds like a response I'd make ;) |
| Werebat04-10-07, 07:10 AM | Well, if they'd statted Thri-Kreen like they SHOULD have, your character would have gotten a +4 bonus from being Large. Look at some old Dark Sun artwork and then tell me those things were Medium. Wotta laff! - Ron ^*^ |
| Captain_Kobold04-11-07, 09:29 PM | 1)my DM says it is wrong that when grappled i cannot use all five of my attacks to break the grapple assuming i fail to beak the grapple each attack on my turn. He is correct. You only get extra grapple moves from base attack bonus. Since your base should be +6/+1, you get grapple checks with those, not your normal +6/+1/+6/+6/+6/+1 attack routine. I believe that you can flurry in a grapple though for +5/+5/+0 on the check. Simply having more limbs does not give a bonus in a grapple. For example, Girallons also have no special bonus; even octopi don't. Your best bet is hope that the rest of your party can get you out of there in time. You're all 10th level? If so, they should have a couple of options for getting you clear, or at least keeping you alive until they can kill it. |
