| urklore09-25-07, 01:20 AM | Is there any prestige classes or feats that allow a PC to have TWO Dragonmarks? Or perhaps the appearance of two Dragonmarks? |
| Vharuck09-25-07, 08:38 AM | Not at the same time. The only prestige class that comes close is the one that allows you to manifest any of the true dragonmarks with the ability to switch. It's the Cataclysm Mage from Explorer's Handbook. (Note that this Prestige Class is disliked by many on the boards because of how willy-nilly it treats the Prophecy, which is supposed to be some near-divine dragon-befuddling mystery yet the Cataclysm Mage's plaything). That being said, it shouldn't be allowed in canon. What that means is, should a DM decide that it would benefit the storyline, anything goes really. And if you want help with that, I can guarantee you'll find many forum-goers here happy to help you (Mr. Baker himself may chime in). However, it's not canon (which in this case means official Wizards of the Coast content) because of the massive effect it would have on the world. Two marks means a person was born of a mixed mark marriage, which is strictly taboo amongst the Houses since it can already produce an abberant marked child. Also, if people manifested two dragonmarks, how is it decided in which House they belong? So, to summarize, if you're asking if it's officially possible for people to manifest two dragonmarks, the answer is no. If you're asking if you're allowed to do this in your campaign for a good reason, the answer is yes (it's your campaign, go buck-wild). |

I forget the name (Dragon Prophet?) and the book (Explorer's Handbook?). You have the right book, but the class is called "cataclysm mage". |

| eehamburg09-25-07, 10:11 AM | Wouldn't 2 dragonmarks be Aberrant? |
| Bossemeyer09-25-07, 10:17 AM | Last i checked Dragon Marks are related to Blood Lines... so the only way to get it is to be apart of the family... to have to different Dragon Marks would be to cross mate... in Eberron this is a NO NO... a BIG TIME NO NO... dragonmarked houses will work together best when its to keep the pure lines pure... mixing lines is rumored to be to a cause of Aberrant Marks but like many thing things in Eberron this is just a suggestion or rumored (much like how they will never say what caused the day of Mourning) so if you want to give a child born of two houses both marks... GO for it... but be warned... NONE of the houses will suffer this abomination to live if they find out about it... Which would be a fun plot to play out… “Ok PC’s you all live in a World Ruled by powerful Families who if they knew your best friend here would put the strength of the world against you… Live your lives avoiding them, if that’s even possible” |
| Cifer09-25-07, 09:26 PM | Or perhaps the appearance of two Dragonmarks? That one is rather simple - Disguise Self (or Change Self) should manage to create what is essentially a pattern on the skin. If that's not enough, there are probably a half-dozen other illusion spells that will work. |

If that's not enough, there are probably a half-dozen other illusion spells that will work. Or a halfway decent tattoo artist. Forge of War mentions halflings faking the Jorasco mark so they were designated noncombatants and had a better chance of being able to gather information and flee across borders unmolested. |
| Cifer09-27-07, 05:03 PM | Does FoW mention what Jorasco did to people it caught doing that? |
| naturax09-28-07, 10:51 AM | Does FoW mention what Jorasco did to people it caught doing that? They were given ice cream. |
| Salla09-28-07, 10:22 PM | Does FoW mention what Jorasco did to people it caught doing that? It did, but I can't recall off the top of my head and the book is on loan. I think that they were officially rebuked by the Jorasco leadership, but didn't really suffer any real penalties/punishments, provided they returned. If they didn't return, they probably got whacked. |
| TheAnthroDM09-28-07, 11:29 PM | They were given ice cream.What flavor? :) |
| ZeroSD09-30-07, 08:06 PM | Jorasco threatened to reduce or stop aid to any government that made fake marks of healing to allow freedom of movement to their spies and messengers. For the individual with the mark it was left unsaid, but at minimum probably a hefty fine/jailtime plus removal of the tattoo. Likely on a case-by-case basis. Wouldn't 2 dragonmarks be Aberrant? Attempts to get two dragonmarks would generally end up as a single Aberrant, yes. Two actual marks would be unheard of... since it's magic and tied both to the blood and apparently the soul/destiny of the person, I don't see it happening under all but the most extreme circumstances. But what if, say, some mad mage put the souls of two people (in a weird twist on the kalashtar/inspired merge) with destinies marked by the prophecy in one body with blood capable of handling a mark...? Perhaps then. |

Perhaps then. That seems a bit like stretching it if you ask me ... stretching too much. |
| naturax10-01-07, 10:59 AM | What flavor? :) Death. Death-flavoured ice cream. |
| Lord_Cronos10-06-07, 05:27 PM | I believe this was covered before the only way to do it would be to have a dragon mark then be reencarnated then pick a new race with a diff dragon mark then take the feat least dragonmark... Now I know i read this in a post some where before. I just dont know where in this mess it would be... |
| urklore10-08-07, 09:17 PM | Wouldn't the original dragonmark disappear if you were reincarnated into a different race? |
| Bossemeyer10-09-07, 08:45 AM | yeah.. if you don't meet the Req's of the old feat you lose its powers so Reincarnated person would no longer have their mark... |
| Cifer10-09-07, 11:27 AM | yeah.. if you don't meet the Req's of the old feat you lose its powers so Reincarnated person would no longer have their mark... Sadly, that is officially not the case, same with classes like the RMM. However, I consider it more fitting with canon if that's not the case. Further, the reincarnation thingy would most probably not work since you need blood ties to the house which are highly unlikely to exist. |
