| DarkWalker11-16-07, 09:13 PM | I searched all over the boards so forgive me if there is a thread about this already, but can warforged act as a host for a symbiont. Is there an example of this somewhere or would it be up to DM ruling? |
| Nived11-16-07, 09:25 PM | An example? No, but a rule of thumb is unless there's a rule that specifically states that a Warforged can't do something treat it like you would a human. Remember Warforged are partly organic (under that metal plating is thick woody root-like 'muscles'. I don't see why a symbiote can't attatch itself to a Warforged there if you have trouble picturing it bonding to their metal 'skin'. This also falls under the 'can a mind flayer eat a Warforged's brain' line of questioning... the answer was yes incase you were wondering. |
| DarkWalker11-16-07, 09:31 PM | Yeah, I was thinking of symbiontes attaching themsleves to the organic component when I first thought of this question. The illithid eating the warforged brain is a good example. Thanks for the reply. |

It is very well documented that unless it is stated differently a warforged is just like any other PC race. But I kept on thinking that there most be some reason that a mindflayer can consume the "brain" of the warforged or a warforged can have symbionts attached to their body. I came to the conclusion that such creature feed off the humans' body energy as apposed to taking nutrients from their bodies. Neither the mechanics or functionality of the game wouldn be effected by the change in description. The only thing that would change would be the meta-game concepts of what is happening. Of course this is just my :twocents: and by no means official or cannon. |
