| Salla08-19-07, 05:21 PM | Something weird that came up the other day ... I'm not sure if this is Races or Combat, so here goes. :) To cut the context, our group wound up in a bar fight. It was just a fistfight, so I didn't want to deal lethal damage. I declared my intent to use 'unarmed strikes', but the DM said that I don't have those, I *only* have the slam and cannot deal nonlethal damage unarmed without taking the -4 to hit. Is this actually rules-supported somewhere, or is it a houserule? I can't find it. |
| Belabras08-19-07, 05:50 PM | Warforged have both. Rule #1 of Warforged is that, unless stated otherwise, they are just like all other player races. All player races have the ability to do an unarmed strike (for non-lethal damage, provoking an AoO), so Warforged do too. The presence of the natural weapon attack doesn't remove that option, just provides another choice in battle. |

The AoO wasn't an issue because everybody involved was unarmed, at least. :) |

| LoneStranger08-20-07, 07:43 PM | Adamantine headbutt, man you think that would cause lethal damage BUT that's neither here nor there. Yup, they still get unarmed attacks, the GM got confused or the CIA was testing a new ray on him/her or something. |
