Templates as a tool can add variety, but may not always be allowed. What Templates Would You Allow a Warforged ??? Let's not break any posting rules here: Please just list the Template Name, Source, and special circumstances if needed. thanks! |

While it may be a stretch you can allow Half-celestial Half-dragon and Half-feind. I personally think Half-Farspwan should also be allowed but they do not have the "Living" Creature clause. |

Half-Farspawn I'm not familiar with (Lords of Madness, I'm guessing, 'cause I don't own it), but I'd go for those (along with Fiendish and Celestial). It occured to me a while back that the not-quite-a-soul Warforged have could be an element of Incarnum. In the case of a template, the spark of Incarnum that animates the Warforged is tainted with something else. Since Warforged can alter their forms if they try hard enough (via Feats), I see no reason why having a tainted Spark couldn't also alter their bodies. |

As a general rule, if it only changes shape and build, it's easily applicable. Planar or divine ones, I'd be doubtful on. A fiendish warforged might have been created with bound a bound fiend, but a half-fiend one? Meh. Same for undead ones. Things like feral that assume a certain lifestyle might vary. Things that change what the creature is made off are probably the hardest to fit in: plant creature, jelly creature, mineral warrior... might be various states of flavorful, but difficult to explain to satisfaction. |
| StoneyDM10-05-07, 11:06 PM | Thanks for all the input so far :-) Here are some others I've considered: -SpellWarped Creature (MM3 maybe) if we substitute breeding experiment instead with failed/experimental design or prolong exposure to magic ... -StarFriend/Ruathar (maybe savage species book) as I recall, was a reward of the elves for exceptional aid to elven community that provides some bonuses ... maybe treat as enchantment to body. -Half-Fey ... druid rites perhaps? what do u think? and, any we missed yet? |
| Edymnion10-06-07, 04:47 PM | Well, I wouldn't really allow any, but then again, I typically don't allow templates on non-warforged PCs either. ;) |
