Ok, I'm going to run a Sharn campaign, and it's going to start about 5th or 6th level, with premade characters. The premise is kind of a private investigation firm that helps out the city watch. I have three characters premade for it already and was hoping for some interesting ideas that would fit the theme just in case I have more players than that. I have a Changeling Rogue 4/Master Inquisitive 2, a Shifter Scout 5/Bloodhound 1, and a Warforged Fighter 6 with all the prereqs to enter the Justiciar PrC. I was thinking maybe a Diviner specialist Wizard, but not sure, any ideas?

A diviner would be good, perhaps with a few levels of Master Specialist from Complete Mage, or maybe an artificer with an obsession with divination items. Other than that, the Bard/Spymaster, Rogue/Vigilante, or even a straight Factotum would complement the party nicely.

I don't have Complete Mage, the other ideas sound good, but where would Factotum be from, I don't recognize that class

I had an idea for a House Deneith excoriate ranger with the Deneith Warden PrC

Although people think of wizards first when they hear "diviner," this role is actually better filled by either a cleric (can't beat divine divination!) or, if you allow psionics, a psion seer.

I would suggest, however, that you do have an arcane caster for those neat spells that help in hunting and capturing your suspect or removing those pesky nuisances who get in the way of your job. :D

I've been having fun with a Dragon Marked Medani scout. I took the Education feat at first level. Plan on taking reasearch feat. Took the detect magic at least, detect scrying eyes at lesser. Then add investigator. Makes one smooth half elf, who's a bit paranoid but loves to figure out what makes people tick.:)

How about a gnomish spellthief that works for the trust now but at one time worked for The King's Dark Lanterns. The KDL trained spellthiefs during the war as a crack unit of spys. Sharn is rich in magic and mage types why not play around with a class that has some real cool powers against them. If you realy want some fun mulit-class into wizard and take the feat master spellthief and get the best of two the classes. You could work your way in to a few different Eberron prestige classes this way, Unbound scroll, Master Inquistive, Sharn Sky Mage, or The DArk Lantern. I personaly would go Spellthief1/wizard5/Unbound scroll5.

A dragonmarked dwarf bard. He makes, repairs (and plays) drums, but business is slow so he does private investigation on the side. Set him up with some good Gather Info and write him up as an expert on whats going on in Dura.

I'm specifically trying to stay away from dragonmarks, I don't want any of my characters to have any house ties. I want the agency to be kind of like the guys from the movie Sneakers small time, but very good at what they do. House Medani and Tharashk leave them alone mainly because they are so small-time they don't pose any kind of threat. The other houses don't have anything to do with them. But so far the input has been helpful.

Thanks crashbangboom, I don't have Dungeonscapes yet, but it's on my 'to get soon' list.

You need an Artificer, go with a Goblin or Kobold, and really have fun with it.

I'd say if you were going the Sneakers route, you'll be aces with the Changling Rogue, but I'd make him a Guild Thief (using the forgotten realms version of the Shadow Thief of Amn), and having some sort of falling out (ala kingsley and redford).

I'd ditch the Shifter Scout, and instead make him a Shifter Bard, far more useful, although, if you want the "former military" angle, there's no reason to not make him a Bard/Scout.

And the Warforged Fighter is cool although I'd say have him make him a multiclass Rogue/Fighter and have him eventually take the Master Inquisitive, or even The Dark lantern class, which adds a whole new level of intrigue and excitement.

and lastly, I'd add in a Cleric who specializes in Divination, and go through the Unearthed Arcana and pick out a feat or two from the Spelltouched Feats, The Omniiscient Whispers is really cool for a Cleric.
