Default Yes, This is an Eberron Thread
I'm throwing out a few ideas of mine.

The first is my favorite OA race, the hengeyokai.
Making them fit in Eberron took more thought than just tossing them in Xen'Drik or some other place.

First, they are know among the people of the Eldeen Reaches as the Pooka (Irish mythology) while they may call themselves Hengeyokai.
They are widely considered a fairy tale and very little is actually known of them. Some speculate they are from Thelanis or Lamania. They have been living in the forests of Khorvaire since long before humans arrived. . It is speculated that some have Goblinoid, Elf or other forms besides humans. After all they were there before the humans.
Like shifters and Lycanthorpes they revere the moons and nature. There stories say that long ago some humans fell in love with the world of the pooka and took on their shapes on nights of the full moon. Dark versions said that jealous humans hunted the forest people and wore their hides. This gave rise to the first Lycanthropes. The pooka refer to them as either "The Lost Cubs" or simply "Bastards". They in turn begat shifters.
Centuries ago, A Rakshasa Rajah, one obsessed with the darker aspects of the natural world, corrupted some tribes of the Pooka with bloodlust and the ability to spread the curse. This is the new breed of lycanthropes triggered the purge of the Silver Flame. The "Sane" lycanthropes who cannot spread the plague are of the first breed. The curse seemed only to affect Pooka tribes that humans feared. This caused the Tribes of the Wolf, Bear, Tiger, Rat, Crocodile, Bat, Shark and Boar to become the monstrous plague bearers.

This is just my Eberron. Wizards has nothing to do with this and feel free to reject it entirely. Enough fluff, just a bit of crunch: Add the fey subtype, and add any new breeds you like that aren't listed as lycanthropic races.

Ninjas have been done to death but I do have an Idea for samurai. Samurai were the elite defenders of the Galifar royal family and assorted noble families. The name comes from an old Sarlonan word for servant with Katana having several meanings Burden, Deathbringer, Honor and simply Sword. Their martial style and skill was partly derived from Dahkann swordsmanship and refined over centuries. Towards the end of the age of the five kingdoms they had somewhat atrophied, years of peace making their position more honorary than martial. The last war split what samurai were left. Most fought on the side Cyre who they saw as the legitimate successor. The few people who still call themselves samurai are see as Quixotic figures or remnants of a bygone age. A few schools in the art of the samurai still remain, the largest near thronehold. Some have tied themselves to the service of a lord with many in the employ of House Deneith. They believe in a resurgence of a new monarch and are ready to reunite the kingdoms. Still, most people have never even heard of the Samurai.

Just some things that have been kickin around in my head. Let me know what you think! (note this thread is also listed in the Oriental Adventures Section)

07-11-07, 03:59 PM I have this weird idea of redoing Argonessan and the Dragons who hal from there. Axe the "normal" dragons in the form of all the chromatic and metallic dragons and replace them with Oriental Dragons driving a Chino-Japanese culture.

The few people who still call themselves samurai are see as Quixotic figures or remnants of a bygone age... They believe in a resurgence of a new monarch and are ready to reunite the kingdoms.

Sort of like in the Player's Guide to Eberron description, only Samurai there are more dedicated to the ideology of Galifar than any particular family line. Also, in that version, the tradition is derived from the Mror Dwarves- with their strong sense of honor, martial culture (including the tendency to name weapons and treat them as allies rather than tools), and their history of fierce loyalty to other rulers (Galifar and Karrnath).
