I have seen all the 1001's on warforged components and Xen'drik artifacts and such, but none on the ideas of new metals or woods or materials in general. I have a two new materials that I have found to be sweet additions to the Eberron world. They lack descriptions, but the mechanics seem to work well.

Cheers,

Dreamsteel: A innately magic resistant ore. When forged into armor, adds SR. When forged into weapons, increases threat range.

Sparkmetal: A steel that is energized with electricity. Weapons add electric damage and armor deals small amount of damage to melee attackers.

Chilltouched: Keeps surrounding objects cold. An effective although expensive container.

Perhaps an ore mined on Risia?

You should move this thread over to the genral forum. I thinks it a great idea and I think you might get a better responce. I will try and come up with some ideas for this thread myself as well.

Talentan Scaled Leather - as Eberron is a setting where Dragonhide armor, from the PHB, wouldn't be as available, it would be more thematic to have a scaled leather armor crafted by the Talenta Halflings from the hide of dinosaurs, and then strengthened by herbal alchemy to serve the same effect as Dragonhide.

Talentan Scaled Leather is available as Padded, Leather, Studded Leather, Hide or Scale Armor (the metallic components of Studded Leather and Scale Armor are replaced by similarly alchemically-strengthened studs and plates of dinosaur bone), and, as non-metallic armor, is well-suited to use by Druids. The cost and effects are the same as the DMG listing for Dragonhide armors, and Talenta crafters will usually make these armors in non-Halfling sizes (for the appropriate recompense), but there will be a wait involved, as they don't keep unusable (to them, anyway) suits of armor lying around...

Talentan Bonecraft Weapons - The same treatment allows the Talenta Halflings to alchemically strengthen dinosaur bone to be as hard as iron, making it suitable for use in Bludgeoning or Piercing weaponry. A Talenta Halfling may use a Spear, Dagger or other weapon crafted of dinosaur bone, which will function as if made from standard materials (and have the hardness of a steel weapon). Such weapons will cost twice as much, due to the expense of the alchemical solutions used to harden the material, but will not be susceptible to rusting attacks.

As with the armor above, Talentan crafters can be persuaded to craft these sorts of weapons for larger visitors, but won't generally have any outsized (to them, anyway) weapons 'lying around' for sale. They travel light.
