| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 06:14 PM | I'm surprised I haven't seen this anywhere (and if it is out there I apolagize), but I'd like to see what people came up with, you don't need to put down any extensive info or anything, just the name of the item, and a brief description of what it is/ does. Oh, and please number them. :banghead: Stupid brainfart, can't think of anything right now, ever have one of these, you have a really (or at least moderatly) good idea and then you go to type it and... well it's not there? |
| Phantomcrossing03-05-07, 06:28 PM | Arm of Extension - Embedded Component - Price TBA. Take up left or right arm slots. Least - Grants subject Reach with slam or held weapons. Lesser - Grants subject reach as though they were a large sized creature. Greater - Grants subject reach as though a large sized creature with a Reach weapon. |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 07:03 PM | 2. Basilisk Goggles- gives the 'forged a petrifying gaze attack 3. Circlet of Light- (not sure if 'forged have darkvision or not, too lazy to look it up so...) small stone (maybe dragonshard) that can produce light as a lantern at will |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 07:20 PM | 4. Stormbound Claws- small, tiny, or maybe even smaller storm (or other) elemental bound into a pair of retractable claws to make it do +Electric Damage +Slashing Damage 4. Stormbound Circlet- can release Thunder (I blieve that's the noisy one) that does sonic damage 5. Stormbound Boots- gives the 'forged flight (really uncreative, tried to fit with the theam) 6. Stormbound Healer- amulet, any sonic or electrical or sonic damage dealt is convrted to healing (as the storm elemental ability) |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 07:26 PM | 7. Qour Host Circlet- (In my campaign the Quor made the 'forged to serve as improved vessels for themselves) shares body with quori spirit (intended for NPCs, maybe key tool for making one of thiose quori hunter guys as a warforged) 8. Qour Amplifier- amulet, gives teh 'forged some of the abilities of the Quor inhabiting the circlet (must have circlet to use) |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 07:47 PM | 9. Daelkyr's Gift- placed in the body of the 'forged, this provides it with the ability to use symbionts by spreading small amounts of real muscle and stuff throughout your body (except that armory one, and maybe some others) 10. Glutton's Stomach- acts as a bag of holding inside mouth (I'm sorry to whoever I got this from... I think I read it on the boards somewhere) |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 08:03 PM | 11. Spider's Gloves- (not exactly gloves) fits over hands, allows 'forged to spider climb 12. Spider's Eyes- not exactly sure what yet, maybe no flanking, or maybe something more extreme like true seeing 13. Spider's Fangs- poisonous bite 14. Spider's (thingy that makes webs)- can use the web spell maybe umm... lets say 3/day |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 08:33 PM | wow, seems like a one man thread, either that or nobody has any good ideas for warforged components...:( |
| Dragoloth03-05-07, 10:26 PM | 15. Grappling cannon-takes up cloak slot- launches grappling hook and mithril wire up to 150 ft. Must make attack roll to hook, AC 15 at 50 ft +2 for each additional 25 ft. 16. Gore Horn(s)-takes up helmet slot- a single(unicorn/rhino) or set of horns(bull/ram) that gives a gore attack for 1d8+str mod dmg. |
| Dragoloth03-05-07, 10:29 PM | For Titans (possible DM use only) 17. Ballista/catapult-mounted on back-Gives 1 ranged attack per round. |
| Dragoloth03-05-07, 10:38 PM | 18- Boon of the scout- amulet slot- allows the warforged to cast silence and greater invisibility on themselves 3/day and lasts until dismissed. 19. Helm of humanity-helm slot(duh)-gives a +25 to disguise a warforged as a human (favored by LoB spies) By the way nice thread. |
| Dragom03-06-07, 01:15 AM | 20. Attached repeating crossbow of tricks. Flings random small furry animals at foes. |
| fiendish_platypus03-06-07, 05:47 PM | 21. Mimic Mask- the 'forged can mimic any sound he hears 22. Eyes of the Guide- can ignore (or maybe only lesser) the Traveler's Curse (from SoX) 23. Mourner's Helm- (for those who want revenge) the 'forged can make his spells living (limited time maybe?) |
| RogueElement03-07-07, 08:36 PM | 24. Adamantine Spikes - adds adamantine armor spikes to the warforged's composite plating (whether or not the warforged has adamantine body). Price: same as adamantine spikes for armor X2. |
| The_Robot03-08-07, 09:33 PM | 21. Mimic Mask- the 'forged can mimic any sound he hears haha, just add... 25. (hey my lucky number!) Chameleon Amulet - attaches to amulet or necklace slot, helps warforged blend into background environment, making them effectivly invisible when they are not moving (DC 25 Spot check to locate, -5 for every 5ft of movement the warforged makes). 26. Claws of The Tiger - retractable claws (treated as +1 Shortswords or Daggers) that extend from the tops of the warforged's wrist. like armblade but keeps both hands free. 27. Wand Shoulder Brace - like wand sheath from ECS except located on the shoulder. instant warforged Yajuta warrior (aka: The Predator!) :plotting: |
| RogueElement03-10-07, 02:06 AM | 28. Armor Plating -- embedded component, costs x2 cost of armor + 1000gp. Out of the character's natural composite plating or warforged Body feat and the armor plating warforged component, the character uses the best armor rating and the worst penalty to skill checks and maximum Dexterity bonus limit, arcane spell failure chance, and movement speed penalty. The benefits and penalties do not stack. The character must be skilled in the armor plating or suffers the armor penalty from the armor plating to attack rolls as normal for an unskilled armor wearer. The Armor Plating can be enchanted as any armor. For example: Bender the warforged wizard installs Masterwork Scale Mail armor onto his standard warforged composite body. He now has an armor bonus of +4, a max dex bonus of +3, an armor penalty to his skill checks and attack rolls of -3 (only -3 because it is masterwork armor), an arcane spell failure chance of 25%, and a move speed of 20'. The armor plating would cost him (50+150)x2+1000gp = 1400 gp. If Bender had taken the Adamantine Body feat at 1st level, he would not gain any benefits from the armor and would still take the -3 penalty to his attack rolls. If Bender had the Medium Armor Proficiency feat, he would not take the armor penalty to his attack rolls. Gauntlets sold separately. Void where prohibited by DM. |
| Dragom03-10-07, 02:27 AM | 29. Flame Touched Heart, A solid lumb of flame touched iron that if placed in then docent slot of a warforged grants a +10, +20 or +30 bonus to the amount of HP the warforged paladin can heal with his lay on hands ability. 30. Heart of gold. Docent slot, same price and power range as a cloak of charisma. Docent slot = Necklace slot |
| RogueElement03-10-07, 02:43 AM | 31. Alloy Inlays -- embedded component. When attached, the warforged's composite plating (or armor plating component described above) is inlaid with alchemical alloys such as adamantine, silver, cold iron, or byeshk allowing his slam attacks (and any other natural or attached component attacks such as Battlefists or Jaws of Death) to overcome the corresponding damage reductions. The warforged does not get any other damage or attack bonuses for the alloy, but other effects may occur such as a lycanthrope getting burned when touching a silver inlaid warforged. When not attached to a warforged, this item resembles a deck of cards made out of the alloy. When attached, the inlay unfolds and quickly spreads out over the warforged's body and embeds itself into the surface of the warforged's plating. Attaching or detaching the alloy inlay only takes one standard action as usual for warforged components. The inlays can appear as any design the creator desires, so long as the design covers most of the surface area of the warforged. Only one alloy inlay can be attached to a warforged at the same time. Cost = 1000gp (3000gp for adamantine). |
| Wrdancer1303-17-07, 02:19 PM | Back in an old issue of Dragon magazine , I saw an item called Armor of Healing, 50 charges, CLW spell triggered by physical damage. I adapted this to my WF artificer as an Automatic Oiler, RLD infusion triggered by physical damage, 50 charges, occupies vest slot |
| LoneStranger03-19-07, 07:13 PM | 33. Battering Ram A component that fits over one arm of a warforged giving them a bludgeoning attack that can be increased by pistons in the back of the attachment forcing air through at the same time you hit. This idea came from the anime series Big O, look at the arms of the megadeuce that Roger Smith pilots. |
| abraham03-20-07, 07:06 PM | 34.brain of manners(imbedded component) when this item in instaled into the warforged it gains 2d2 points of charisma & knowledge of all good manners practiced for about 2d12 miles fromt he point of implantation. |
| Forged_For_Hire03-20-07, 09:18 PM | 35. Retractable Shield- Warforged arm component with a free action, allowing the wearer of the device to produce forth a tower shield. Great for those situations when cover is scarce. 36. Eyes of the Inspector- Warforged eye component that allows for a +5 bonus when installed to Search and Spot checks. Also, good for going against disguises. Great for Warforged Inquistive. |
| abraham03-22-07, 06:16 PM | 37.baloon lifter basically a hot air balloon that is powered by the warforged's natural heat.(possiblly combined with the stone of heating in an issue of dragon magazine,I forget exactly wich one though) |
| Kamikaze Chicken03-23-07, 01:50 PM | 38. Blade slinger: attached to either arm this device alows a WF to launch any one light blade [daggers and the like] in a 60 foot line [ a la the whirling blade spell], it is a move action to load the device and a standard action to fire it. 39: Spring boots: these boots aree attached to both of a WF feat and contain heavily coiled metal. Upon clicking its heals together a WF can cause the metal top spring down granting him a +20 to his next jump check. the coils are supressed into the coiled position upon landing. 40: Rebooter: this item is similar to a docent int hat it roams freely across a WF, when ever a warforged woul db e rendere dinert the rebooter enacts holding the soul of siad warforged as per the magic jar spell. then it begins a process of repair utilizing the invisible repairer spell[cant remember the name] when the wf is returned to half full hp the device re enstates the soul so the WF can live on. |
| LoneStranger03-26-07, 03:28 PM | 41. Grappling Line: This item fits over the wrist of a warforged and, on command, fires a grappling hook with 100 feet of rope up to aid in climbing. As you ascend the rope magically retracts back into the component (I think there's a spell where you can make rope but I'm blanking on what it is). You can reload the grappling hook back in but there is a 5 minute delay between firing the hook each time. |
| Spooty03-28-07, 12:37 AM | 42. Spark of Life: Requires the Shocking Fists feat from SCoT to wear, embedded belt component. The warforged can expend some of his lifeforce as if he were using the feat, but instead store 8 hp (and take the 8 hp damage) in the belts receptacle. This life energy can only be released when the warforged has fallen. When disabled (not destroyed) the Spark of Life slowly releases its charge after 1 round, returning the warforged to consciousness (1d3 per round of its stored 8 hp, up to a max of 0 hp). (Designed for Bastion, WF Paladin of the Silver Flame, who's headstrong tactics often leave him wanting.) |
| Heartlezz04-07-07, 02:33 PM | Shadow Armor-lose your previous armor feat (if taken) +5 AC, speed penalty none, skill penalty none, Max dex mod. +6. Provides a +10 move silent and hide. You turn completely black and more sly looking |
| JiCi04-12-07, 07:29 AM | 44. Anaxim Rotor: takes the cloak slot; as move-action, gives fly speed of 100 ft. (good). While grounded, flankers attacking the warforged while the rotor is turning 1d4 x 1d6 points of damage (Reflex halves). As full-round action, use rotor as weapon, deals 1d4 x 1d6 points of slashing damage (Reflex halves) |
| Warforged Goblin04-17-07, 01:41 PM | 35. Retractable Shield- Warforged arm component with a free action, allowing the wearer of the device to produce forth a tower shield. Great for those situations when cover is scarce. My take: Retractable Shield (Attached Component): This thick, adamantine cylinder that looks to be a bracer or a ward cestus at first glance, attaches to a warforged, fitting over the hand and arm. While a retractable shield is attached, the warforged can say one of five command words to expand or retract the shield to suit the wearer’s current situation. A retractable shield can be a +1 adamantine buckler, +1 light adamantine shield, +1 heavy adamantine shield, or a +1 adamantine tower shield when fully expanded and can be retracted to no larger than a normal bracer (granting no bonus to Armor Class). Regardless of it current size, a retractable shield requires tower shield proficiency to use properly. Moderate transmutation; CL 5th; Craft Magical Arms and Armor, Craft Wondrous Item, shrink item; Price: 3,180 gp |
| abraham04-17-07, 06:17 PM | 45.markmaker givin to the warforged by the dragons this implanted device allow the implanti to use dragonmarks as per the normal races. |
| Creature_Mastermind04-17-07, 06:55 PM | 45.markmaker givin to the warforged by the dragons this implanted device allow the implanti to use dragonmarks as per the normal races. I would think only a few WF would have this item like maybe ones from Argonessen from another thread i read about WF. i'll see if i can't find the link. |
| LoneStranger04-17-07, 07:10 PM | 46. Vampire Suite. Warforged in service to a vampire (read something like that in Sharn: City of Towers) will sometimes go and collect blood for their masters. The apparatus consists of a pair of fangs for the warforged connected to a waterskin or something similar in the torso. When a warforged bites a victim the fangs start drawing blood out like a vampire's fangs would holding the blood for later on. When the storage device is full the warforged can go back to his "commander" and present the blood for feeding. "This was the work of a vampire! We must stop him!" "But it's the middle of the day and this looks like it just happened" "Oh ummmmmmmmm well, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" |
| Forged_For_Hire04-21-07, 05:00 PM | My take: Retractable Shield (Attached Component): This thick, adamantine cylinder that looks to be a bracer or a ward cestus at first glance, attaches to a warforged, fitting over the hand and arm. While a retractable shield is attached, the warforged can say one of five command words to expand or retract the shield to suit the wearer’s current situation. Moderate transmutation; CL 5th; Craft Magical Arms and Armor, Craft Wondrous Item, shrink item; Price: 3,180 gp Thanks so much. A couple of players and I were talking about what to do with my idea since it is feasible. We agreed with you on the proficiency feat. The additions to the shield idea were a nice touch. |
| Forged_For_Hire04-21-07, 05:08 PM | 47. Flurry fists-component useful for the warforged monk. Allows for quicker movement for unarmed attacks. |
| gelalshawr04-25-07, 04:58 PM | 9. Daelkyr's Gift- placed in the body of the 'forged, this provides it with the ability to use symbionts by spreading small amounts of real muscle and stuff throughout your body (except that armory one, and maybe some others) nothing says they can't, considering they're living creatures, I see no RAW that says a WF cannot attach symbionts 31. Alloy Inlays -- embedded component. When attached, the warforged's composite plating (or armor plating component described above) is inlaid with alchemical alloys such as adamantine, silver, cold iron, or byeshk allowing his slam attacks (and any other natural or attached component attacks such as Battlefists or Jaws of Death) RoE feats do the same thing @Dragom and Kamikaze Chicken Docent takes up amulet slot, embedded inside the WF's chest 45.markmaker givin to the warforged by the dragons this implanted device allow the implanti to use dragonmarks as per the normal races. :twitch:  ummmmmm....... no... |
| Hufish04-28-07, 02:49 PM | 48. Oil Injector: Embedded component, allows Warforged to store up to 3 vials of magic oil (oil of repair, any other sort of oil the warforged might want to use). One vial can be activated as a free action per round. 49. Titan Harness: Embedded component, takes up cloak slot. Grants Warforged powerful build racial trait. |
| StoneyDM06-10-07, 03:30 AM | 50. Belt of Geriviar (or Arrow Demon, or insert 4armed creature name here) based on precedent of the tauric belt which grew appendages similar to natural 4legged creature, this would instead extend torso to include second set of arms. This is actually an item I've wanted to use for awhile but could use some help with the game mechanics side. Any str/con/hp/size adjustments inherent? Also, if this artifact level treasure recovered from Xen'dric was applied to a near epic WF, how would 2nd/3rd/4th attacks be resolved (off-hand penalties? ftr bonus attks?) and would monk levels help any here ? (...considering a trip to necrotic cradle a la PHB2 for a revamp, if needed.) Would really love to see my teen (and his PC) react to this new powerhouse upgrade but want to keep it still playable. [help] stat adjustments anyone? |
| Perun06-12-07, 03:47 PM | My take: Retractable Shield (Attached Component): This thick, adamantine cylinder that looks to be a bracer or a ward cestus at first glance, attaches to a warforged, fitting over the hand and arm. Regardless of it current size, a retractable shield requires tower shield proficiency to use properly. Moderate transmutation; CL 5th; Craft Magical Arms and Armor, Craft Wondrous Item, shrink item; Price: 3,180 gp Magic Item Compendium has a shield property called Variable, which basically does what you described above, but without the adamantine bit and does not require tower shield proficiency. It's a +1 enhancement. From what I've seen of warforged components, they generally cost about the same as the item they mimic (armblade, for example, costs 2,300 gp, that's the price of any +1 weapon without the cost of the masterwork weapon). Thus, I'd say the non-adamantine attached component version of the variable shield would cost at least 4,150 gp. Adamantine version should cost that plus the price of adamantine tower shield (+2,000 gp). Tower shield proficiency (if any; I think it should be required only for the tower shield version of the component) should not reduce the price of the component. Armblade requires Exotic Weapon Proficiency (bastard sword), and still costs about the same as the regular +1 bastard sword. Regards. EDIT: I just noticed I'm replying to a two-month old post :P But, since I already typed my reply, I'm going to post it anyways... |
| TiwazTyrsfist06-16-07, 08:57 PM | 51. Dexterous hands - Replaces normal hands - Five fingered (4+thumb) hands with long multi-jointed fingers (up to four joints per finger rather than two like a human). Enchanted for dexterity, they allow the warforged to preform fine manipulation tasks more easily. +2 (or higher) bonus on all skill checks that involve fine manipulation. I.E. most slight of hand, forgery, making fine jewelry, playing most instruments, etc. |
| tenguroEd06-18-07, 02:53 PM | 52. Warforged grafts, for your arm or anyother body part that got eaten off, or cut off. |
| gelalshawr06-20-07, 03:44 PM | 52. Warforged grafts, for your arm or anyother body part that got eaten off, or cut off. Found in the back of FoE, created originally by servants of The Becoming God. |
| abraham06-20-07, 07:24 PM | 53.poison sacks(for use aginst organics only)this stacks with armor spikes. |
| turalisj06-21-07, 06:56 AM | 54. Energy Cannon. This weapon houses the power of an empowered energy lance. It can be fired once per round before it has to be recharged by way of a psi-ship's generator. Psy-ships are airships that use large, pure Eberron shards for power. They are extremly expensive, and used by the Dreaming Dark to invade Khorvaire. |
| abraham07-07-07, 06:15 PM | 55.supercape-(epic implanted item) this item allows the warforged character to use ALL the powers of superman for about 23 hours(it needs a hours recharge per day) tell me what you think of it. |

| Warforged Goblin07-09-07, 07:46 AM | is this supposed to be like megaman bustercannon? if so that is really sweet, my group discussed this also but we came up same thing but use the orb of force spell instead. This is not a warforged component, but I thought you might be interested in it. Lyte’s Gauntlet: This light blue mithril gauntlet is adorned with three rectangular pieces of amber. Attached to the opening of the gauntlet is a movable bracelet with an emerald, a topaz, a ruby, a sapphire, a diamond, and a piece of quartz set into it. As a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity, the wielder may fire a ball of acid, electricity, fire, ice, sound, or force at his target, out to a distance of 55 feet. The wearer may, as a move action, select what energy type is fired by aligning the jewel on the bracelet to the indicated position on the gauntlet. This is a ranged touch attack that deals 4d6 points of the selected damage. Even though only one gauntlet is worn, Lyte’s gauntlet takes up an item slot as a pair of bracers. If the wearer has the Rapid Reload feat, he may change energy type as a free action. Strong conjuration; CL 7th; Craft Magical Arms and Armor, Craft Wondrous Item, orb of acid, orb of cold, orb of electricity, orb of fire, orb of force, and orb of sound; Price 48,000 gp |

[help] stat adjustments anyone? I would say that the warforged would have the 1 primary hand and 3 off hands, no bonus to str, con, hp or size, but maybe a str bonus for carry capacity? also 4 hands grants the ability to wield 2 2-handed weapons, or possibly using all 4 hands a 2-hander meant for something 1 size category larger. Monk's flurry instead of the 1 extra attack at 1st level would have 3 extra (one for each hand) same penalties apply. further more this could allow the warforged to wear 2 extra rings, an additional pair of gloves, and bracers. 56. The thinking Cap - embedded warforged component, this replaces the top of the warforged's head with an emerald dome with faintly pulsating red crystals inside. In addition to granting an Int bonus, the warforged gains the same bonus to 1d6 knowledge skills. |
| turalisj07-09-07, 08:25 PM | is this supposed to be like megaman bustercannon? if so that is really sweet, my group discussed this also but we came up same thing but use the orb of force spell instead. More like a gundam's beam cannon. It could be like the mega buster though. :D |
| GimliGloinson07-10-07, 09:49 AM | 57. Dusk Visor: This curved, blackened band of steel attaches to the face of the warforged, completely covering its eyes. When affixed, a red light slowly paces back and forth from left to right to those who can see the warforged directly from the front. This item gives the warforged darkvision out to 60 feet. In addition, once per day, the warforged can activate blindsight to 30 feet for 5 minutes. |

| The_Wrath_of_Talos07-12-07, 03:13 PM | The mercrucial warforged, high threat range and critical damage on unarmed attacks. It would be a fun monk. Otherwise, for fun hand attachments go with the edward scissor hands idea. |

| Soltares07-17-07, 11:09 AM | 58. Pincer Arm - this massively oversized grey-iron claw has three pincer like 'fingers,' more like the pincers of a crab than actual fingers, with one smaller 'thumb' opposed by two larger gripping wedges. It is large enough that it reaches to the ground, and often thumps the ground like a massive crutch while the Warforged travels (but it does not confer Reach). The Pincer Arm allows the Warforged to grapple with that limb as if it possessed the Improved Grapple feat, and allows the user to maintain a grapple, or attempt to hold a pin, with only that arm at no penalty for using only a single arm. If the Warforged possesses multiple attacks, from Two-Weapon Fighting or iterative attacks, it can maintain a pin, or even inflict damage via a pin, while also attacking it's target with any light weapon in it's other hand (or a slam or natural weapon attack) at no additional penalty. 59. Grappling Array - This arm has hook-like blades that can be used to slash at another for 1d6 Slashing damage (crit 20/x3), or fired at range as a light crossbow (same damage, but Piercing), either as an attack or to grapple onto a fixed object at range (the hook-like blades actually clutch mechanically as they impact their target, attempting to sieze onto whatever they struck). The hook is connected to a fine adamantine chain that can support 600 lbs of weight, and the Warforged can winch that chain in as a move action at it's normal unencumbered movement rate with it's normal Strength score. This can function as a Harpoon if used against a living foe, but is more commonly used to pull the Warforged up a wall. The Warforged can cause the grapple to release, even at range, as a free action. 60. Warshell - This enormous carapace looks like a Large sized Warforged when not in use, and unlocks and opens up to reveal that it is mostly hollow. A standard Medium sized Warforged can fit into the Warshell, and while 'wearing' it, is treated as a size Large creature, gaining Reach, and a -1 size penalty to attack and AC. The Warshell is composed of a mysterious orange-gold metal that is warm to the touch, and when a Warforged attaches the final clasp, the metal shudders and conforms to become exactly the same composition as the Warforged 'wearer,' whether Silver-Traced, Mithral, Adamantine, Darkwood, Psiforged or even Unarmored. The shell takes as long as full plate armor to don (helpers can decrease this time normally), but only 1 full-round action to remove (it literally 'spits the wearer out' upon command). The Warshell wearer has a +2 size bonus to Strength while within the capapace, and the usual size bonuses and penalties to Hide and Intimidate skill uses and Grapple / Trip checks. |
