| FrostWolf07-22-07, 01:14 PM | Anyone know what the DC is to craft the bloodspikes found in the magic of eberron? It isn't listed in the book and I didn't see any errata for it. Thank you in advanced. |
| Nundahl07-23-07, 01:47 PM | I hate that they included a mundane alchemy item PC's couldn't get their hands on a craft DC for. I don't have my notes on hand but I toyed with the idea that they had a prereq of Brew Potion, since they are almost magical in nature (I mean one gives you a spot of haste, that's pretty nice) but are also fairly weak compared to big spells, so no xp cost involved. I set the craft dc at roughly 30-40 depending on power level of the spike, would love to see how others handled it if at all. |
| Need_A_Life07-23-07, 03:44 PM | Giving a rough guess, I'd put the DCs at: Defiling: DC 25 Glowbug: DC 15 Spatter: DC 15 Tempo: DC 25 Thickener: DC 20 The formula (obviously) being 10+(price/10). Remember, at level one a dedicated expert with skill focus (craft: alchemy) will have +11 [+4 ability mod, 4 ranks, +3 skill focus], which would allow them to make anything but "Defiling" and "Tempo." They'll be able to make that at level 5! That's pretty high level for Eberron, so don't expect those to be common. Seems like it fits... though I wonder where the Bloodspikes that Wren (Inquisitives series) used on those guards would fit in... Knock-out: Fort DC 12 or go unconscious? Cost: 100gp Craft DC: 20 |

| Need_A_Life07-24-07, 10:50 AM | Yay! At least someone thinks I know something... :P |
| Nundahl07-24-07, 05:42 PM | You make a great point with regard to 5th level NPC's pulling it off ... I should scale down, I like it. |
| Need_A_Life07-26-07, 07:52 AM | Domo arigato, Nundahl-san! :D |
| The White Sorcerer07-26-07, 10:39 AM | Remember, at level one a dedicated expert with skill focus (craft: alchemy) will have +11 [+4 ability mod, 4 ranks, +3 skill focus], which would allow them to make anything but "Defiling" and "Tempo." A 1st-level expert, no matter how dedicated, can't make any alchemical items. |
| Dragom07-26-07, 07:20 PM | Right, 1st level Dedicated Mage Wright... Wow I wish I was one of those. They must really rake in the cash. |
| Dragom07-27-07, 09:59 PM | +17 craft at first level for a Magewright Gnome to make alchemical items. With the Alchemists Lab of course. They don't have to roll at all, just take 10... For some things they could take the extra +10 DC and still take 10. Like I said, they must rake in the cash. |
