Cyrite is discussed on page 117 of the Player's Guide to Eberron.

In the next chapter of my campaign, the PCs will be transported to a time in the future when Breland is the new Mournland - sort of a fun way to demonstrate the consequences of failing their objectives. Factions of living spells vie for power and I'm making good use of the 1001 Mournland Horrors thread!

In one encounter, the PCs come upon a shattered tower, thrown from Sharn and blocking the Sharn to Zilspar road. Inside is a ruined foundry and warehouse filled with ore that has been transformed into cyrite.

If the PCs carry it back into the "past," I'd like it for it to be imbued with some other cool power - a little fun and flavor. Cyrite weapons are nonmagical, but count as magical for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Cyrite armor grants the wearer a +1 bonus against spells. The PCs are 11th-12th level, so I want to give them a little something on top of this.

What extra power might you give cyrite from the future?

A D% chance of an item made of Cyrite being possessed by a dead Cyran citizen. You can have loads of fun with this...

Not related, but your thread title made me think... what if the Mourning sent Cyre into the future instead of destroying it? Of course, any ruins or anything are that which failed to make the trip, but the majority is there, waiting...
I guess it's sort of hard to put that into a campaign, unless you either play that long (or start the campaign that far ahead), or the PCs find a way to replicate it to travel there themselves, intentionally or not.

I think I'd go with creepy fluff additions. Things like:

Cyrite weeps at random times. The metal literally seeps tears and makes a soft moaning noise.

Cyrite is oily and smells like corpses. Nothing can be done to remove this nasty side effect.

Cyrite, if worn by a sleeping person, causes horrible nightmares of the mournland. If worn for long periods, some kind of connection between the dead land and the wearer starts to form....

Cyrite is magically radioactive. Every day magic items are near Cyrite there is a chance that the metal will randomly warp the magic of the item. A wand of CLW might turn into a wand of Detect Magic, or worse, Cause Light Wounds, and so on.

Cyrite is psionically resonate, making it an excellent material for items with psionic mind effecting enhancements. This causes certain parties to become very interested in the ore.

Cyrite strengthens the undead. Any undead within 30 feet of the metal gains a degree of turn resistance. Even more so if the metal is worn.

...and that's it for now. :D
