No extensive stat blocks or anything, that's left up to the reader should they use the ideas. This isn't meant to be a list of adventure ideas, just the bad things that happen to adventurers along the way.... Please add your own! Group camps overnight and wakes up to find that the entire area around them has been layered with webs. Where are the spiders? Are they going to attack the PCs? (Possibilities: Aranea, Ettercaps, Huge spiders…) Tracking a Warforged juggernaut into the wastes to dispatch it. (already damaged) Enlarged Warforged with a halberd and gauntlets, enchanted by an Artificer. The Halberd has Bane and the hands are flaming. Use Cadaver Collector as mini. Combat reflexes and 10’ reach. More fun if there's somethiing the characters want and it's in the Warforged’s reach and gets an AoO on anyone who tries to retrieve it. Information Merchant in Sharn: Half-Elven bard vampire. Trades information for blood. Lovely awkward situation for PCs. Do you trust the vampire to not tear your throat out? The vampire may well be an honest broker. Takes about 5 CON points and stops. |
| Syltorian02-13-07, 11:42 AM | A swarm of firebats (or other elementals) have escaped from a gnome workshop, before they could be bound into items. Unfortunately, said worshop was right next/underneath the PC's inn, and the place has caught fire. The mummy of an ancient Xen'drik giant has escaped from a ship before it could be brought into the local museum or wayfinder enclave. It seems more bewildered than hostile, and wanders the city in an attempt to get away. An inn in the Eldeen Reaches acts similarily to a Mirrage Mullah (Sandstorm), trapping the PCs inside as it changes location all over the Reaches, looking for more victims A PC who betrays his origins (dialect, clothing, ghulra, etc) is mobbed by locals who fought for a different nation, or warforged who have not yet come to terms with the meaning of "peace". The PCs are accosted by border-guards as they unwittingly cross a border; it turns out that there are irregularities with their papers (whether by mistake or on purpose). The lightning rail suddenly comes to a halt in the middle of nowhere, because avalanchers has blocked the route. Avalanche after avalanche crushes into the wagons and threatens to throw it hundreds of feet down the ledge. |
| Melvin the Mediocre02-21-07, 11:00 AM | The character(s) wake in the middle of the night to see a beautiful young woman in a wedding dress standing quietly staring out the window. Characters with knowledge: fashion (and most have it) can tell the dress is many decades out of style. She will ignore the PC's, accept for maybe casting a sad glance in their direction. Eventually she lets a sigh of despair, then fades from view. It is the ghost of a bride still waiting for the groom who was killed in a surprise assault during the early years of the Last War. Before she was given the news, she was also killed by a stray cloud kill spell. The patrons of the inn actually love the "white lady", in fact the inn might even be named after her. She is only spotted infrequently, but always generates a great deal of excited discussion each time she is seen. |
