Given the disease-warding properties of targath, keeping a blunt 3 gp targath lump on a wristband seems like a sound idea for most people without easy remove disease access, especially elves with their somewhat frail constitutions. If targath just overcomes deathless' DR/targath, then it isn't too big a deal, any more than keeping a small, blunt lump of iron would be a problem for humans, who don't have any DR to anything. If they have a more profoundly visceral, negative reaction to its presence, though, and can smell it on anyone within 50 feet and feel a bit sickened, then it seems unlikely that it would be acceptable for typical Aereni to wear it. |
| Shady31402-23-07, 06:13 PM | It's not like Deathless wander around Aerenal. And I doubt they have an allergy to it. Something like "a deathless can sense/smell/etc. Targath within 50 ft. and are sickened by it" would probably have been included in the mechanics and makes targath like deathless krptonite. So it's probably very common though it would be considered VERY rude if not illegal to wear it in the presence of a Deathless. So if you need to speak to an ancestor or enter Shae Mordai you would take off any Targath you have on. |

Que the scene where the sniper pieces together his deathless killing arrow from various things scattered about his person. ;) |
