I'm DMing an Ebberon Game and I want to come up with some cool components for the Warforged of the group to obtain eventually.

There are not many given in the book and the the ones that are there seem kinda boring.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

both Races of Eberron and Magic of Eberron have some other decently useful components. i think the Xen'Drik book does too.

otherwise, talk with the player. one of the drawing points to playing a warfored is gearing them up with components, i bet your player already has some idea of what specifically they want...

I am talking with my GM about a warforged component belt. It's like a potion belt, where you can load up with, say, 10 potions/oils. But instead of drinking it (moving the hand from waist to mouth) you just flex some muscles with a move action and absorb the content.

The price is not set yet.

I would make some other component ... the visualization just really bothers me. ;) Apart from that, 10 free/swift-action potions is a bit much.

Maybe a potion resevoir that holds one potion and the warforged can "drink" it with a free (as opposed to swift) action. Maybe takes up the amulet slot and requires a full-round action to reload.

Our DM has allowed the warforged arcane spellcasters to embed spellshards as spellbooks. I like this image and it makes it more difficult to have spellbook mishaps.

ahhhhhhh someone (DrunkMonk) using my usual username for other forums! lol :P

Creating "Essence of the _____" components and attached weapon components are easy, I've created several.

Also I once created a component which made the 'forged invisible for whatever many rounds...

Components are cool...

They have alot of weapon components, but why not an attached component to enhance your armor, so that way you would be able to have a good ac without permanently limiting a character

Just a note: You can enchant your plating. :D

Suggest he get a internal bag of holding. Have it built into his chest. He could be like bender. Wait, is he a warfoged rouge that goes around making money off of horrible ideas, insults everyone he meets, and carries a lot of beer on him?:pint:

I always wanted an internalized bag of holding connected to the mouth of the Warforged; great comic relief, eating all sorts of equipment, treasure, then vomiting it up when needs arise!

How about a larger variant on the battlefist, resembling the forearms of a gorilla, which also permit the warforged a bonus to movement rate and the climbing skill?

I would do something like a +5 bonus to speed when charging and a climb speed equal to half the warforged's speed.

i had an idea about instead of the Armbow +2 repeating light crossbow that covers the whole hand. A +1 reapeating hand crossbow that only takes up space on the forehand as bracers. So if you have to do something other than combat you could have both hand free.

How about immovable rods in a warforged legs (that it can activate at will) that allows it walk through the air at will.

... If it could walk with immovable legs. ;)

being able to deactivate them at will would help to. ;)

I thought that was implied.

There's a component somewhat like Bender's chest compartment instead in Dragon #352.

I've had a lot of thoughts on this, some good, some silly. Obviously, you would need to work out the details as your campagin allows....

New legs from the knee down that would give an improvement to jumping ability (adapted boots of springing?)

goggles that attach over the eyes for whatever vision benifits.

a criclet with horns attached, giving a head butt attack.

one of two tail attachments: a strong tail, which allows an extra slam attack, or a thinner, prehensile tail, which could hold/manipulate objects, but not make attacks.

a hand with fine retractable tools built into the fingers, acting as +x lockpicks. ( I keep picturing the alien at the begining of the fifth element, when the key comes out of his finger...)

forarm attachment that reinforces the plating there, causing the 'forged's arms to act as bucklers.

a set of eyes that allows the 'forged to detach an eye, and use it for remote veiwing purposes.

a set of bracers that allows a 'forged to shoo a thin magical cord, which can either anchor itself to a surface, or be used to make trip/entanglemnt attacks against an opponent (think bobba Fett's grapping launcher)

I have many more ideas, but am running out of time. I'll post more later, if anyone thinks any of these are useful.

Retractable Claws:D

Hidden Hand Crossbow Holster in leg

Replacement Eyes

Gave a PC Warforged this really funny component. They couldn't identenfy what it did, so he took the chance to use it. Turned out it made moss like hair grow on his head:D was worth a good laugh.

Here's a counterpart to the Swordarm..

The Shieldarm. When locked into place, this component unfolds from a buckler-sized shield to a full Heavy Steel Shield, while leaving the Warforged's shield-hand empty.

I have actually been trying to come up with stats for a weapon similar to what Gundam Epyon from the Gundam Wing series had on his left arm. It would be something like an armblade only it would have a spiked chain or whip in it. I was thinking the spiked chain would be the best bet, though in this case it would function more as a whip and probably make it flaming or flaming burst and depending on the amount of power you want it to have it also could be keen and/or vorpal.

I also considered having it automatically cast heat metal on itself to make it hot enough to cut through any kind of flesh but I dont think that would work very well
