| Artector03-10-07, 07:06 PM | I was searching for ranged options for my Warblade, when I noticed a note on the Exotic Weapon table of the ECS. Its says "A wielder native to the region mentined in a weapon's name treats that weapon as amartial weapon rather than an exotic weapon". Interesting clause... So, I'm considering having my changeling Warblade just buy a Xen'drik boomerang. From that line of text it would be a martial thrown weapon for me, and thus I would be proficient. (I decided he was from Xen'drik way before I found this table mind you) Anyone have any thoughts on this little rule? Do you think it really matters? Seems odd to me, but I feel guilty about using a hidden rule to gain an extra bonus. |

| InfinityStar803-10-07, 07:44 PM | It's so-so. I've seen DMs say a Dwarven War Hammer is still exotic for Dwarfs, and Gnomish Hooked Hammers are exotic for Gnomes. I've never agreed with that, but I also see how it's unfair that not ever race has a racial weapon. So it's the DMs call. I do like haveing weapons make for a race. |

Throws that plan down the toilet. Still, seems like an odd line to add. Guess I'll pick up an Exotic Weapon Proficiency anyways. Or buy a bunch of daggers (just checked, probably gonna buy some throwing axes, at least until 3rd level) |
