I recently obtained the Magic item Compendium and it sparked an idea for my on going campaign, I have a Player who believes his character is the last descendant of House Vol and who seeks to restore the lineage. Paging through the Magic item Compendium I found a set of Items that rather suit the House, the Instruments of the Blood Gift, abet tweaked just slightly. But then I got in over my head and would like to go one better. House Vol I decided was divided into 3 groups, much as Pharlani has its different demesnes. The Demesne of Blood were there Warriors, the Defenders of the house, and it was there head who wore the Instruments of the Blood Gift. The Deminse of Bone were the houses pure scholars and were responsible for maintaining the houses undead labour force. The Demesne of Flesh became a public face of the house, and also the Primary force behind the ancient guild of Funeralists who tended those honored dead not chosen for the rituals that make a deathless. What I would like to do is provide the Demesnes of Flesh and Bone with there own Instruments, 3 item sets of broadly similar power level, and without over lap in terms of item slots, so that all 3 sets might be worn together (Possibly unlocking additional 'Metaset' benefits) The problem is I’m running short on ideas, so if any one has any suggestions for items for the Instruments of the bone or flesh gifts I would welcome them.
