| Ezram07-25-07, 07:33 PM | Could a submarine be created using magic? Constructed of Mithral or Adamantine Walls of Force on portholes The missile tubes are actually large wands that are activated from within Bottles of Air or a portal to a plane mostly composed of air Unsure on what would propel it though  |
| Symar07-25-07, 07:36 PM | A Water or Air elemental bound to it, most likely. |
| Nerdicus07-25-07, 09:36 PM | I have planned on having some elemental bound submarines that were made by the gnomes in one of my games. I was thinking that they would be made of some sort of metal, most likely mithral. With a bound air elemental that both propels the ship and keeps it full of clean air whilst it is under water. |
| Shady31407-26-07, 07:21 AM | Could a submarine be created using magic? Already been done... In Eberron... I'll say no more to avoid spoilers. If you like just google submarines and Eberron. |
| OctaviusIII07-26-07, 06:57 PM | And it's also in one of the supplemental books. Explorer's Handbook? Magic of Eberron? I dunno, something like that. Also: a wall of force is unnecessary. 3.0's Stronghold Builder's Guide has some prices for permanently enchanting walls with invisibility (among other things), so you could just make the windows out of the same material as the rest of the hull. |
| eehamburg08-03-07, 03:50 PM | A submarine is just as plausible as the skiffs or the airships. |
| FrostWolf08-03-07, 08:48 PM | Submarines can be found in the Arms andEquipment Guide. Also, thee exists a spell that turns a ship into a sub for a short time. |
| Alex_08-03-07, 08:55 PM | There's an elemental submersible in the Grasp of the Emerald Claw published adventure. It uses a bound water elemental ring to propel a wooden vessel. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/grasp_gallery/85986.jpg |
| Phalo08-04-07, 03:03 AM | Apparatus of the Crab (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#apparatusoftheCrab) this has been around since like 1st edition i think. |
| The White Sorcerer08-04-07, 03:33 AM | Submarines can be found in the Arms andEquipment Guide. So do zeppelins, but that doesn't mean they exist in Eberron. At least not in that form. |
| Bluebrush08-04-07, 03:34 PM | Also, if you can afford it, the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook could allow you to make a water-tight castle that roved under the waves. Which would be pretty cool, especially if you can get some smaller craft for missions outof the castle. (As a side note, KB has mentioned he had hoped to expand more on the underwater aspects of the setting in the ECS, but it was cut due to space limitations.) |
| Alac_Gane08-05-07, 01:37 PM | And it's also in one of the supplemental books. Explorer's Handbook? Magic of Eberron? I dunno, something like that. There's an example for one right in the Arms & Equipment Guide. Alex_ also brings up a good point - I've seen that picture before and it always looks groovy. :D |
| Ezram08-06-07, 07:03 AM | Now it's time for me to stat CAPTAIN NEMO :) |
| eehamburg08-06-07, 12:12 PM | Captain Nemo? nothing ... give me the greatest submariner of all Captain Marko Ramius!!!!!!! |
