Set up Shop: Oh for the high glory days of Planescape when the clarion call of the Planedelvers (No plane too low, no fee too high!) were a feared battle cry and Sigil was our playground. My old crew loved things like this and nostalgia creeps into the corners of my mind at the thought. 9. Send Messages to Other Cities: You know, I was thinking of using reputation rules in my ever upcoming game and this throws another intresting idea into the mix. Fan mail. Bards singing their praises, word spreading of their deeds across Khorvaire. Invitations to festivals and requests for aid showing up all the time. There is a masquerade in Thrane next week, but do you dare refuse Merrix d'Cannith's invitation? 8. Find a Place to Hang Your Helm: A home is always a fine thing to have in my games. From Sigil to the City of Lies campaigns that revolve around home have always been the most memorable. 7. Join a Wizard Circle: If I can only get a player who actually WANTS to play a wizard... 6. Use the Manifest Zones to Advantage: Hmmm.. interesting things here, but I must admit if they don't have a use outside of Sharn or another Manifest Zone... I just don't know. Still, four for five so far! 5. Become a Member of the Citadel Elite: Oh sweet merciful Sovereigns thank you! Why is this number five? Give me my musketeer brew in great boisterous tankards full! 4. Shockwave: Okay... six out of seven. Sounds neat and all, but is one spell really something that should be on a top ten like this? Seems like a general teasing of titles would be better. 3. Make Friends and Enemies: Merrix, crime bosses, clerics and corrupt officials. Bring on the web of alliances, nemesis and NPCs! 2. Learn How to Get out of Trouble: Ooo.. legal codes can be serious fun. It reminds me of City of Lies back in my old Legend of the Five Rings days before the excursion into the Tomb of Iuchiban left the magistrates battered and torn unsung heroes. Oh nostalgia is a potent drug indeed. 1. Get a Map: sigh... okay look. I'm glad that there will be maps and all (especially with the lack of good maps in the CSB), but this is reason number one? Ah well. At least it is confirmed for us. Just seems anti climatic. All in all a solid anticipation front is building up with expected torrents of geek orgies on their way. Clear skies of appreciation with lightly scattered errata clouds are hoped for. |
