| PrincessMark01-31-07, 06:24 PM | I know that April is a long way off just yet, but as I mentioned in another post I have been working on a small number of short encounters/adventures for Aprils Fool's day based on 80's/90's cult cartoons, as well as some movie ones too. 1: Rise of the Hand The PC's wind up investigating yet another string of robberies in Sharn...but this case is a little different. The culprits seem to vanish into thin air, and only items valuable to children or teenagers are being taken. Soon a big heist of exotic Reidran weapons are taken and the PC's are hot on the case. They encounter a clan of ninja thieves calling themselves "The Hand" led by a mysterious bladed figure. During an initial encounter the group recieves help from four unlikely allies. Dontario, Lenard, Ralphelo, and Michalenos Four anthropomorphic turtle ninja's. Led by their trainer and master, Sharper, a monk/ninja anthropomorphic rodent these young ninja seek to understand where they came from and stop the evil crime organisation rising in Sharn. The group seems to have ties to House Valdalis...could the house be behind the strange robberies AND the strange creatures? 2: Augmented Shifting Spirit Patrollers Fairhaven has enough trouble with thieves guilds, murders, and organised crime. So the watch thanked their lucky stars when a group of five mysterious strangers appeared one day, each baring the symbol of an animal and displaying amazing powers. Calling themselves the "Augmented Shifting Spirit Patrollers" these crimefighters are artificers using special "Shifting Badges" to enhance their abilities. However, soon things start to go wrong the and group have turned to evil! Appearing with new "Shifting Badges" and in outfits of black, this group now commit crimes instead of stopping them. Can the PC's take up the mantle of the "Augmented Shifting Spirit Patrollers" and uncover the mystery. And does the strange, manic psionic woman cackling on a nearby rooftop have something to do with it? Please feel to add any OTT tongue in cheek adventures you want to run for your players at some point. Whether it is "Cult" based, a movie parody or similar! :) (Mainly April's fools day! :D) PS: Be nice, it's my first thread! :( |
| Kishmo01-31-07, 11:25 PM | Inspired by recent cold I just slogged my way though, I was contemplating making a joke adventure where a dimensional gate to the Elemental Plane of Mucus is opened inside someone's nose. I haven't worked out the details, but maybe some wizard of the Twelve is targeted for a prank by his jovial rival from the Arcane Congress. Or maybe a gnome is just feeling particularly tricksy. Or maybe it's just an experiment gone horribly wrong. In any case, the PCs would be hired by the wizard to be shrunken, and teleported inside his nose to do away with the myriad Snot Golems, Phlegm Elementals, or Mucus Oozes that have slimed through the portal, and are now threatening to erupt from the hapless wizard's face. Perhaps the final encounter would be against a Sinus Demon, guarding the portal? :D It'd involve a bit of work making the slimy monsters, but you could really get creative with them! |

| Alex_02-03-07, 05:10 PM | 1: Rise of the Hand 2: Augmented Shifting Spirit Patrollers Dang, you took 2 by of my best ideas right off the bat. Well actually, my group of Shifters were called the Stormbeasts. The leader would be a Were-lion shifter who needed help recovering a powerful sword he would need to fight the forces of the Emerald Claw and their undead wizard Leader. I like the evil version idea though. 3. Karnnathi Dinosaur Cavalry As part of a new military project, the Karnnathi have been capturing dinosaurs in the Talenta Plains (especially the larger varieties) for some kind of plot. They're using special bridles enchanted with mind control spells from House Vadalis to control them, and House Cannith manufactured armor and mounted wand weapons. The PCs are approached by either the Karnnathi military to assist in capturing more animals without the natives of the Talenta Plains finding out, or they will be asked by the natives of the Talenta Plains to stop this exploitation of their sacred dinosaurs. 4. Lord Eberron The PCs will be approached by Eberron itself, which speaks of a grave threat that seeks to destroy the world (related to the Mourning). The PCs will be entrusted with magical rings that will give them elemental powers usable X amount of times per day. When they combine the rings, they'll be able to summon an Avatar of Eberron who will fight on their side for a specific number of rounds. 5. Attack of the Killer Potatoes A well meaning but absent minded wizard, in an attempt to make animated crops that could plant and pick themselves has instead created a rapidly multiplying variety of magical plant that is threatening to overrun not only his small village, but several nearby ones in the Eldeen Reaches. The Druids have been trying their best to fend the plants off, but the ever expanding foliage is evolving rapidly in response, growing wicked throny branches, explosive growths, poison spores, and even highly mobile "attack" pods. The PCs are asked to lend their aid. 6. Glidewing Guy There have been a string of serious crimes in Sharn. Apparently, a rather disturbed group of themed criminals have come into the city with the intent of upsetting the criminal underworld and making the law enforcement look like fools. They include an Elf from the entertainer's guild who uses a clown motif, a short Dwarf in aristocratic clothing with a strange magical parasol, a Gnome with an obsession with riddles and rhymes, and an acrobatic Female shifter who uses a whip. To make matters worse, they seem to have been followed by yet another insane individual- A Glidewing shifter (in love with the female shifter) favoring alchemist fires/frost/acid, and whose failed attempts at stopping the quartet have resulted in thousands of gold pieces in collateral damage in addition to the crooks' crimes. The only thing known about him is that his one response regarding his identity when asked by an innocent bystander was, "I am the night" before he leaped off the railing of a building and disappeared. The PCs will be approached to help stop, not only the maniacs wreaking havoc, but to stop the mysterious vigilante that's causing even more mayhem in their wake. |
| DragoonDarkfire02-03-07, 05:30 PM | Arachnid Warrior 1 The PC's go to a house Valdallis laboratory where they find numerous animals being treated with magical experimentation. One of these is a spider that apparently survived the mourning and grew to monstrous size. This spider gets out and bites one of the PC's off guard, after killing the beast one of the PC's begins to gain unusual powers. He can use Spider Climb at will and Web at will as well. He develops a +5 insight bonus to AC and a +30 on all jump checks. MEANWHILE in Dargunn. A random goblin warlord is exposed to a new magical potion that is said to make him super powerful. He ingests it and not only does he gain inhuman strength and speed but captures a Cannith personal flying device. Now this Goblin is terrorizing Sharn and the PC's are called in to help. Arachnid Warrior 2 One Peaceful Day in Sharn... Prescalli Octoiid is a famous Artificer in the employ of house Cannith. After much study he summons a fire elemental of epic power (think Primal Fire elemental) and attempts to bind it to an air craft. BUT WOE! In a mass influx of magical energies. His wife is horribly burnt to a crisp and the eight mechanical tentacles that he used to control the elemental are infused into his back. The next time the PC's end up in Sharn, they find the city under ravage by a new crime leader. Mage Octoid who will want nothing more then to destroy all of the city of towers and everyone who has caused him so much pain. Arachnid Warrior 3 the dalkery have made a new symbiont. One that is SO powerful that not even THEY can control it. This symbiont goes out and finds the PC who carries the spider powers attaching itself to him. The PC must struggle to keep the Symbiont from controlling him and turning him against his friends and family. The PC's will find however that if 20 points of sonic damage is dealt to the character then the Symbiont releases it's hold and disappears. Unknown to them however is that it attaches itself to a Cronicaller for a Brelish newspaper who isn't fond of the PC's for costing him his job (in some random event). The Symbiont senses the boys hatred and attaches itself to him. Now he has become Toxin. A dangerous and evil creature who will stop at nothing to kill the PC's and everyone else in his path. |
