I'm working on creating a campaign for a group of dashing thief-types and I have been brainstorming various thefts they could work on.

But pay no heed to the party in particular, what are some excellent thief-targets in Ebberon?

Ill start us off:

1. Recent explorations have unearthed a mysterious dalkyr device, believed to be a biological weapon of some sort. During the devices excavation, word leaked out and now most of the various organizations of Ebberon would like the device for their own purposes / safety. Fearing that the device would be stolen by one of these groups, the excavators (whoever they might be / work for) chose to send a decoy airship off, and move the device by lightning rail. The PC's are one of 2 small groups to get word of this decoy and switch, and while half the world is on the prowl, or coming down on the airships, they are infiltrating the train carrying the device.

2. 2 changling brothers are vieing for a valuable piece of land. Their father willed it to only one of his sons before his death. The brother currently occupying the land is not who it was willed too, but is posing as him in order to reap the benefits. The true heir is coming home from explorations in Xen'Drik, he possesses his personal identification documents and will surely take the land back when he arrives. The non-heir brother highers theives to accost his brother before he returns home, and attain his identifications. He would prefer his brother not be harmed, and not notice the PC's attempts. Any Xen'drik artifacts the PC's happen to encounter aboard the heir's chartered airship are theirs to keep.

This might be a bit to plain, but oh-so-great if you actually manage it:

3. Rob the First Kundarak Bank of Sharn

I'll preface this by referring to Dungeon #143 and #147, respectively. ;)

4. (I don't know who to credit this for, but) The Lightning Rail traveling between Wroat and Sharn encounters a fog. As the train comes out of the fog, one of the cars is just gone. Said car contained a high profile veteran from the Last War, a war hero of Breland who was going to be commiserated that weekend.

5. Shopkeepers are complaining. Someone is breaking into their establishment and stealing anything not valuable but still important. Screws, bolts, nails, the shiny buttons off of coats, spell components, pretty vials containing absent things like perfume, ink, etc.

6. The inner echalons of the Karnathi government are livid. In a few areas along the Karnathi countryside, underground facilities containing crown-owned undead are stored. These undead are not controlled, but are stored in preperation for a conflict if war starts up, as immediate backup troops. However, a maintenance crew coming in discovers the place empty. Who stole a building full of zombies and skeletons? More importantly, why?

Dhakani relics are on display in Morgrave University for a limited period of time.

An excavated major schema is being transported from the remains of the Cannith Facility Whitehearth in what used to be Cyre to Cannith South's tower in Sharn.

And of course, there's always the wonderful plot hook of when an antique elven half-dragon teddy bear that radiates an intense aura of evil shows up in a Sharn pawn shop... ;)

The lost throne of the Dhakani empire has been found!!! this magical seat of power can only be wielded by a gobliniod and at that only fully wielded by one of the blood hiers as been stolen during transportation. any number of goblin groups would kill for this item.
