I would like to contribute:

92. Near Dark. A band of vampires roaming the countryside, led by an ex-Confederate soldier? Easy to adapt.

Let's see...

118) The Jackal
119) Basic

That about does it for me. I can't think of much else that wasn't covered.
Good pick with the Fifth Element. Loves the Brucey I do. I can't see Silent Hill being Eberron-y though. Maybe it'll come to me.
The Wilgar

05-01-07, 11:47 AM
120) Patton

I can just see some crazy old Brelish General now...

And, though it's not movies, The Dresden Files book series. You could take Harry and drop him into Sharn without changes.

121. Ghost Dog

The Urban Ninja is just as much at home in Sharn as he is in modern day NYC altough he does not listen to Rap!

Some more off-beat selections...

122. The Descent - Six chicks with picks! Some 'extreme explorers' end up stranded, inadvertently dropping into Khyber and fighting off Grimlocks.
123. Fist of Legend (US title) - Prolly my favorite martial arts flick, this one involves two hostile countries and the prejudice that comes with it.
124. Smokin' Aces - Just love this movie.
125. Shanghai Noon & Knights
126. Noir - Anime series involving a pair of assassins...

I can't see Silent Hill being Eberron-y though. Maybe it'll come to me.

Well, it's more of the supernatural flavor than the typical pulp & noir. I do rather like the idea of a rakshasa raja permanently messing up a town, causing some unlucky people who enter it instead go into a ghostly, ethereal version (and occasionally switching it over to the shadow plane for nasty fun). Throw in some investgation, a strange cult, and the good guys don't have a superhappy ending (despite being successful), and you got an Eberron flick IMO.

128. Though not strictly a movie, any episode of Star Trek: DS9 with a plot revolving around either Odo and/or Garak.
^Graff

05-02-07, 05:33 PM
129. HBO's Rome (not a movie, but Pullo and Vorenus seem like adventurers, and the nobles can be great inspiration for Khorvairian politicians)
Belabras

05-02-07, 08:35 PM
130-134. Alien 1, 2, 3, and 4
DBlizzard

05-03-07, 02:24 AM
97) Buckaroo Banzai

And to go back to the source:

135) Doc Savage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doc_Savage:_The_Man_of_Bronze)

Cheesy movie starring Ron Ely. However, the bones of the plot certainly contains inspiration.

136) The Shadow
Wizardman

05-04-07, 07:30 AM
137) Wild Wild West

It's very easy to adapt. A mad artificer kidnapping geniuses to help build a moving Eldritch Machine, aided by a band of soldiers led by a war criminal that won't stop fighting the war even though everyone else has. Jim West is a Fighter/Rogue, probably a hobgoblin, and Artemus Gordon is clearly a changeling Rogue/Artificer. Both are in the service of Breland.

138-Heat
139-Unbreakable
140-the sixth sense
141-The long kiss good night

144-Enemy at the Gates
145-Beowulf and Grendel

146: Metropolis the anime. (the feel of the movie fits a Sharn campaign were warforged are really discriminated).

147. Conan the Barbarian ~ Eberron more than any other D&d world lends itself to this type of adult swords n sorcery.
148. Terminator ~ definately some of the scenes from the first one where they have robots ruling a mist covered world is a good starting point for the Mournalnd and Lord of Blades.
149. Aguirre, the Wrath of God ~ If you were ever tempted to play Q'barra or Xendrik in a "realistic" vein, this would be your movie.
150. Warlords ~ a chinese Jet Li flick with loads of good ideas for Last War setting or if you plan on the whole mess starting again. It's about how politics uses soldiers as pawns
151. A nightmare on Elm Street ~ If your using the Kalashtar and the Dreaming Dark, might as well use the best film ever made about nightmares.
152. Dune ~ Shocked nobody mentioned this one yet. It has the same Guilds/Royal families split of power. Political intrigue abounds. Sci-Fi/magic technology.
153. The dark Crystal ~ I am revolving my campaign around an all powerful mega dragonshard called the Soulburner that is half Syberis and half Khyber. It is kept in a secret chamber and guarded by dark elf "sketsis"
154. The Host ~ The Korean monster flick would make a superb one -shot adventure anywhere from the Shadow Marches to Q'barra
155. Begotten ~ This completely unwatchable film with its incessant insect chirping is good watching is you want a truly sick version of what the demon wastes could be like.
156-160. The Harry Potter movies ~ There is a LOT of material here for anyone going to Arcanix or even Korranburg U.
161. A.I. ~ terrific starting point for the philosophical challenges facing the 'Forged
162. The Blob ~ Aberrations are big in Eberron. The Blob would make a great boos baddie in many an Eberron adventure.
163. Reign of Fire ~ Gives a good feel of what parts of Argonessen would be like.

164: Shoot 'em Up - "By the Host! Do we really suck or are these guys really that good?"

167. Stargate (And series)
It's a great way to cross-genre almost anything, and, in a pre-Mourning campaign, it gives plenty of ways to explain the Mourning.

04-21-08, 11:40 PM
127- Unleashed Kalshtar monk coditioned to go into kill-bot mode when a collar is taken off to the delite of jaded nobels

That would be "Unleashed" if nobody gets it. Great movie though. Figured I should write the movie title out.

O wait, it says Unleashed, Olav just didn't put a hyphen between unleashed and kalashtar, APOLOGIES!
