Not sure if this is how this sort of thread starts but i thought id give it a go...

1) Whilst passing through a "lower class" area of Sharn the players are accosted by a street performer juggling balls. Whilst their attention is otherwise engaged a goblin child attempts to steal their purses...

4) Harassed, chased, attacked by followers of a Dragon Below cult.

5) Harassed, chased, attacked by the Sharn Watch in platoon strength.

6) Harassed, chased, attacked by [fill in name of group].

7) Approached by an attractive prostitute who attempts to lead them into a trap.

8) Approached by an ugly prostitute just looking for clientele.

Not sure if this is how this sort of thread startsUsually they're started by new members that are under the misguided idea that "Long thread that I started = me good", so they make 101 threads to get the big long thread without having to do any real work, thinking it makes them look more respectable, when most people are just going "Oh gawd, not another 101 thread" :P

In this case its a member e.g. me, who simply thought it might be a good way to get a very random, (read hundreds of possible ideas from lots of people) list of things that might happen in such an environment. Often people come up with things that you would never dream of and can make excellent introductions or even form whole story lines.

Sorry if ive offended anyone but hey I had hoped other's might have find it useful too.

11. Agents of organized crime (Daask or Boromar, depending on where the party is) stop the party and demand "protection" money

12. A scream can be heard, rapidly getting closer. Looking up, they see a young girl falling from the towers above.

13. The party comes across members of the Sharn Watch harrassing a damaged warforged

14. Assassins

15. The party finds a dead body...it has a single round wound in the back of the skull (A heal check discovers that the brain is missing)

- A goblin stands at the entrance of a gate leading to a large garden, he charges 5 gold for a visit at the stone halfling. Inside the garden stand many stone statues all of halflings, every single one prefectly detailled, most of them have weapons drawn and stand in an attacking or defending pose.

16.) A halflings trained Fleshraker goes berserk and runs off. Decides to hunt the party.

17.) One of various animals get loose from a travel Circus and does something similar.

18.) A Green slime sucks a party member down into a sewer vent.

19.) A party member bumps into a traveling Hobgoblin noble who demands an "Honor dual" for being unceromoniously pushed aside.

20.) Party discovers a burning house with its various occupants still inside.

21.) A maurading band of ogres is tearing through the streets. Yet, the crowds do nothing to stop them as they go on with thier lives? Possible, Gnome Illusionist playing a prank.

Edy, be nice. These threads are actually pretty useful as adventure seeds a lot of the time. Lay off the kid will ya?

22) The party is stalked by mysterious figures sticking to the shadows

23) A barroom brawl tumbles out into the street, threatening to engulf the block in chaos as the fighting expands and onlookers scramble to get away.

24) A pack of goblin were-rats hunts the party through the sewers

25) The party stumbles upon a warforged who's not all there, literally. His lower body is missing and he totters around angrily on his hands, muttering about the "tiny flesh-bastards who stole my legs."

This is actually a useful thread... less useful than the specific encounters but it is good for ideas.

26- The PCs see something like a man-sized spider (Aranae or monstrous spider) dragging a cocooned body into the sewers.

27- A man without a face attempts to grapple one of the party members and steal their face to replace his. (See the Faceless Fiend in my sig spoiler. :) )

28- A Warforged fighter lunges out from a pile of refuse to attack with a greatsword. (This really happened in my first Eberron campaign. The party hid the Warforged in a pile of trash and refuse that had been dumped from the higher levels of the city. He was guarding an open hatch in the ground that led to the Depths, which they were exploring. When someone entered the dark alley (hired by an evil NPC to strand them there), the PC Warforged jumped out and cut him in half. :D )

Much as I like the idea of getting away with half price travel etc im now 35 married with 2 kids :-)

29) As the characters pass by the end of a narrow alley a shimmering apparition crosses from one side of the alley to the other. Pausing briefly it appears to look straight at the characters before bursting into tears and disappearing.

30) A deadly beast being trained for the Race of the Eight Winds [ http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20041220a ] breaks loose and rampages through the goblin day care. But the party doesn't care becasue they are just goblins, and the players have spent to much time in the forgotten realms :P

31) A succubus, hungry for mortal souls, desguises herself as a lady of the night and propositions the PC for a wild evening.
