hey, I came with two fun adventure ideas for eberron and i'd like to see if you guys could help me flesh them out.

1. During the days leading up to the Mourning, Karrnath created a small squad of ghouls under a Blood of Vol Cleric and sent them into Cyre to see how they would would function as soldiers. Karrnath, not wanting the undead to run wild and perhaps start up the last war, has sent the PC's to the last battle they were seen in. They are met with a ghastly sight: Almost 100 ghouls feasting on the bodies of the mournland. The Cleric has been turned into a gravetouched ghoul and their numbers have increased significantly.

My question: How could the PC's resolve this?

2. After reading another thread about toys making kids evil and turn to the Keeper (given by a lich from the frostfell, ha ha ha), I thought i'd make it less of a joke and more of a creepy-horror style game. The PC's meet their patron, whose son/daughter cannot get enough of a doll (it has essentially "charmed" the child). They said that they bought the doll from a reputable store, so they trust it. The store owner has no idea why these things are flying off the shelves, but he likes the buisiness. He gets them from a toymaker who lives somewhere in the under-city of sharn (or other city). This is where the fun begins. The PC's have to find the toymaker's shop, which is located in the sharn sewers and guarded by evil, creepy toys. Lots of opportunity for creepiness and scaring the players with toys whose eyes follow them, scary little kids who vanish, hearing noises, ect. The toymaker is really a mad and evil Artificier who is a devottee of the keeper and is trying to get children to become posessive and evil.

My question: What are some creepy things you could do to the PC's when they are in the toymaker's shop, and how could you lead the PC's there without railroading (i.e., make it more investigative.)

I like your second adventure. But I got a few questions that may help... or not.

If I remember correctly, the under city of Sharn, (the lower city the depths and the cogs) is like a total ghetto-slum; basically the butt crack of Sharn. What would possess the shop keeper, (figuratively or literally) to stock his shelves with toys from a place like that?
Another thing, why is your antagonist a mad artificer? In a world like Eberron where you have the Dreaming Dark, the Lords of Dust, and the cults of the Dragon Below, why a mad artificer who worships the Keeper? Granted it works, but personally I would go with one of the bigger factions. I think it leaves you with allot of material you can work with later in the game.

As for creepy stuff, I say look through Heroes of Horror, I found some cool stuff in that book. Oh! Go rent a bunch of horror flicks and rip stuff of from the ones that make you poop your self! Or better yet, invite your players over to watch the movies with you and watch them to see what makes them react.

A couple sources for evil toys if you need some ideas:
2e Ravenloft adventure "The Created" has quite a few nasty evil toys.
2e Ravenloft accessory "Forged of Darkness" has a few more.

The adventure actually includes the toymakers shop in it but that is probably less creepy than the PC's situation when they end up there.
