| jknevitt10-07-05, 10:27 PM | Hm. Daanvi (the Perfect Order) and Xoriat (the Realm of Madness) BOTH coterminous with Eberron? Interesting. That combination happens once every 14,000 years exactly (right down to the date). |

| Radkres10-07-05, 10:34 PM | And just to make it real bad make them both at the same place like Sharn. |
| MysticTheurge10-07-05, 11:37 PM | It could be quite interesting. Madness and Order aren't exactly the opposites they appear to be at first glance. Consider some things that seem very orderly, but still quite insane to many of us. Things like cults where people kill themselves to get onto UFOs they think are hiding behind the moon, the lockstep regiments of Nazi germany, or the collective madness that was the Salem Witch Trials. |
| Shadowalk Nimblefeet10-07-05, 11:44 PM | Kythri too. Notice that the Churning Chaos is also coterminous along with the Perfect Order and the Realm of Madness. That would be an interesting period to live in. Madness v Order v Chaos. Interesting indeed. |
| AvonRekaes10-08-05, 12:56 AM | Dont forget serial killers, who are inarguably insane but follow a very defined and rigid order. |
| The White Sorcerer10-08-05, 09:01 AM | Kythri too. Nope. On the 2nd of Lharvion 2747 YK, Kythri is waxing. The plane of chaos, indeed. |
| Ohtar Turinson10-08-05, 10:31 AM | I think Kythri's order is randomly determined everytime the utility is started up. Maybe that was something else though. |
| DragonRg610-08-05, 10:50 AM | I got Kythri as coterminious as well. Whatever. Sounds entertaining. From the DM's perspective, at least. |
| jknevitt10-08-05, 12:34 PM | I think Kythri's order is randomly determined everytime the utility is started up. Maybe that was something else though. Yes. It's random every time. |
| davethebrave37110-08-05, 01:22 PM | Yes. It's random every time. That's what I love about it! |
| Gaile d'Lyrandar10-08-05, 05:05 PM | I may be wrong but doesn't the eberron campaign setting say that a dimensional seal stops Xoriat from becoming coterminous. |
| Thwyvylyn10-08-05, 05:28 PM | this is 1749 years from campaign start so plenty of time for the seals to degrade or be broken. |
| pawtucket_pat10-08-05, 05:28 PM | I may be wrong but doesn't the eberron campaign setting say that a dimensional seal stops Xoriat from becoming coterminous. They mention it in the tool itself, but I guess they put it in anyway in case somebody cared for whatever reason. Like they wanted to date previous incursions of the daelkyr or if the plane becomes realigned somehow inside a campaign. |
| DoveArrow10-08-05, 05:32 PM | Well, the Eberron Campaign Setting is actually a little unclear on the matter. The intervention of the Gatekeepers during Xoriat's last coterminous phase altered the plane's orbit, and Xoriat has not been coterminous again since then. Dimensional seals (see page 272) keep the plane away, but various forces seek to break their power so Xoriat can draw near again. If you look up dimensional seals, it says that they project a field that duplicates the dimensional lock spell, and prevents the usual effects of any manifest zone with a radius of 2 miles. In other words, even if Xoriat were coterminous right now, nobody would technically know, because the daelkyr couldn't cross over, and the madness that the plane typically projects wouldn't be felt by inhabitants of the Material Plane. Last but not least, if you look at the description of Xoriat in the planar calendar it has this to say: COTERMINOUS: The intervention of the Gatekeepers during Xoriat's last coterminous phase altered the plane's orbit, and Xoriat has not been coterminous again since then. ** For the pourposes of this tool, Xoriat was given an extremely long cycle of 2,352,000 days with coterminous and remote periods of one year. Hope that helps. |
| Brastan10-08-05, 06:12 PM | Kythri the Churning Chaos is random and can be in any state at any time. It's Chaos and unpredicatble. It's actualy my favort plane because haveing a random plane is great tool for the DM to explan away mestakes. Oh the villain didn't die when fell from Skyway down into the Cogs? Kythri must have been coterminious. ;D Another idea is to force both aligments by messing with the dimensional seals. Perhaps there is way to lock a plane into coterminious state. Wouldn't that predicament. |
| Euangelion10-08-05, 07:25 PM | If I access the utility online, Kythri is always coterminus. If I use the one I downloaded onto my computer, it's never coterminus. There's a few other differences between using the one online and the downloaded version. Personally, I go with the online one as being the "correct" one, but it's nice to have a version that I can access offline as well. Edit: not that I think that Kythri is always coterminus. Being random, it's coterminus whenever I feel like it. As an aside, anyone else notice how many planes are chaotic in theme (not just chaos-aligned)? There's Kythri of course, and Xoriat is pretty chaotic. Thelanis is also chaotic, as is the areas of Shavarath controlled by the demons. That's opposed to Daanvi and the areas of Shavarath controlled by the devils and archons as being lawful in nature. Then again, Fernia, Risia, Xoriat, and 2/3 of Shavarath are all mildly evil-aligned (and Mabar isn't exactly a happy place either!), versus only Syrania (strongly) and 1/3 of Shavarath (mildly) as good-aligned. I suppose if a paladin ever feels that the universe is stacked against her, she might not be too far off! :D |
