T We don't know. 4E Eberron won't be out for at least a year following 4E's launch, and the folks working on Eberron haven't told us anything. What's with the sad face? It could just as easily turn out okay or better than we expected.
Hopeless 08-17-07, 01:18 PM	What is the future of Eberron now that they are releasing 4th edition (http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=24062)? help T So far Forgotten Realms 4e is planned for sometime next year after the rerelease of the 3 core rule books with the phb in may and the MM in the next month with the dmg in June whether it stays like that I don't know but there hs been word of Eberron 4e but I don't know if its just rumour or someone really spiteful as last time we had Dragon and Dungeon magazines to gently coax us with the impending changes this time they seem intent on keeping it internet related and that might be the breaking point for their sales. Now back to youtube and this 4e presentation of theirs...
seTiny 08-17-07, 01:20 PM	Hey, folks-- I'm in my GenCon hotel lobby and don't have time to address every question here, but let me assure you that Eberron is in good hands. We certainly hope that Keith will continue doing freelance work for Eberron, and I'll be doing my best to keep an eye on every bit of Eberron material we produce to avoid straying too far in unwanted directions. Eberron is almost as much my baby as it is Keith's. He and I have had a lot of conversations about our visions for the world, and I'm confident we're on the same page and have similar dreams for the setting. And one of my goals is to get the RPG folks and our book editors working more closely together as well. We don't have plans to make dramatic changes to Eberron with the new edition—don't look for a Time of Troubles-scale shakeup. As several folks have pointed out, it's still a young world and we like it right where it is, just out of the Last War. We won't be removing a race from the world or losing a dragonmark. The fact that something isn't in the first Player's Handbook doesn't mean it's out of the game! We can't include everything that exists in 3.5 with the first release of core rules, but we'll get to it sooner or later. With no huge changes in the works, of course your 3.5 Eberron books will still be useful. Does Five Nations become suddenly invalid if you can't use the Knight Phantom prestige class as written any more? Of course not. Eberron is a richly-detailed setting, and those details aren't going away. So fear not, keep playing, and keep checking back for more updates! (I'm assured our main site servers will be back up soon...) Thanks for your interest in Eberron. It's very gratifying to know that something I've put so much work and care into is making your games better! I'm sure it will keep doing so for years to come.
