Playing out a particularly interesting or disturbing military mission can clearly establish the effect of the war on the world and set up allies or enemies that can appear in future adventures. This also allows PCs to enter the post-war world with a little experience under their belts. It wouldn't necessarily work with players who wanted to bring characters from the four corners of Khorvaire, but for a party that wants some history together, it has a lot of possibilities. Orchestrating the party meeting on the battlefield, as friends or (much more difficult) as foes, would be a challenge but quite interesting. |
