Because I was bored and because I'm a sucker for charts, I spent a few days creating an Excel sheet that takes every district in Sharn and shows the percentage chance of finding a specific good or service. Need to know the chance of finding a linkboy in Granite Halls? Look at the chart. Want to know if there's a basketweaver in High Hope. Check out the percentage with this handy chart and make a roll. I also included condensed information at the top, such as district type, council representative, and gold piece limit. Each ward has it's own tab with districts listed across the top and trades/services listed down the side. I hope somebody finds this little project helpful. Go to http://ashronrants.typepad.com and you'll find it on the upper left under Eberron links. If you find the chart useful, or just find it disturbing that I would spend my free time to make it, drop a note and let me know. Also, this is version 1.0. As I learn more about Sharn, I will add to it, and may work on ways to streamline it, which would most likely involve some macro work. If you have suggestions on what information you'd like to see in future versions, let me know. If for some reason you don't have excel, I might be able to make a PDF. Again, let me know. I'm a sucker for the little details and charts to map them all out too, but in this particular case I could actually do with less. This is not to diminish or criticize your work, it just looks so overwhelming that I can't even imagine how I could use it in game, now matter how useful it is. Maybe I just need to get to know it a little. How come a few districts have little to no available goods in them? Like Firelight in Middle Menthis, for example. It should definately have some bordellos. Whatever the case, nice work on this one!

It's a work in progress, so I probably missed a few things (like the one you pointed out. I'll have to go back and give that a 100%) It looks a little overwhelming at first, but I hope breaking it down by Ward would help. Also, at some point I will go back and add filters, so you can filter down to specific districts. It's just been a while since I've used Excel, so I have to remind myself how to do all that. Mostly the was for my use for later, since I have grand visions of someday breaking down every district and determining every business, including names and such, which will last until Keith and Wizards release district books and blow all my work away :weep: In the meantime, I wanted to offer the sheet up for any who wanted it. Thanks for taking a look.
Ashron 12-30-04, 10:16 AM	Is it just because of the early version that some districts have nothing? All of the residential districts are empty since the book mentions no businesses in them. You'll also notice for the business districts that I didn't bother to list the residence or lodging categories, since an inn is an inn, so if a district has poor lodging, the percentage is 100%. (Maybe I should add those categories, so people can know at a glance what's available in what district.) Thanks for checking out the chart. I hope it can be of some use to you.
Rinna 12-30-04, 11:19 AM	All in all, it was pretty impressive. It is a lot of information, and while it mayn be a work in porgress, it's pretty useful as it is. I took a look to see if a shop I made up in my campaign would actually exist where I put it. It seems to. That, and I have a hard time remembering different sevices, and now I have a list to refer to. Thanks for all your hard work! Rinna
