| eomer_beoulve08-10-05, 02:26 AM | I've got a question for the forum, Recently started to watch Full Metal Alchmist on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and I wondered if it would fit into Eberron, as such I'm kind of curious what everyone's thought ons this is since the Artificer's in Eberron and the "State Alchmists" in FMA kind of fit like a really damn fine glove you know? In case anyone has already covered this as a question, could someone direct me to the thread if I've completly missed it?  |
| PoeticJustice08-10-05, 02:59 AM | They don't fit near as well as would be expected. Artificers, with generally low combat prowess (d6 HD, mod BaB, poor Fort. Save, Simple Weapons only, ect.) don't do very well to fit the soldierly role the State Alchemists play in the TV or Manga. You'd be better off just going multiclass fighter/artificer or fighter/wizard (or sorceror) to replicate the abilities. Hexblades, Rangers, and Paladins might work well too. Now, inasmuch as class is concerned, you should really try not to limit your organizations based entirely on what class its members is likely to possess. All Samurai need not be CW or OA 'Samurai', nor a Ninja be a CA Ninja. An Archmage could have no levels in archmage. Just because Artificer seems close to alchemist doesn't mean other classes wouldn't do the job as well or better, |

Focus on a lot of Transmutation, Evocation, Conjuration, and whatnot and you got a lot of what htey do in that show. To do the chimera stuff, more Transmuation and some NEcromancy spells 'bouts. Or, as noted, an Artificer class thing, Bu tI can see battle sorcerer, easily. Stuff. |
| AlDaRoN Arg08-10-05, 08:40 AM | FMA: Science Eberron: Magic FMA: Guns Eberron: Wands FMA: Unlimited transmutation circles per day Eberron: Limited spells/infusions per day Itīs just impossible to adapt an Alchemist to a d&d class, you have to make a new class and try to balance it with the rest. And personally it would fit better in modern d20 |
