korcheck 05-07-07, 10:58 AM	So here's whats going on, if any of you remember, a while back I came to you with a problem I was having with a story about a possible new war of the mark, the quick solution was to bring in some higher lvl PC's to do the job. This is how it has turned out thus far the PC's got a message from a close npc/DMpc (play alot but not every game so I don't know what you'd call him) basically this guy was caught by the leader of House Tarkanan trying to infiltrate and spy for the Boromar clan. She sent for his friends and gave them an ultimatum help her find the real killers of all the dragonmarked people and she would spare him. They have run around all over sharn and found that what is happening is that a "powerful sorcerer" (really the 2 rahksasha from S:CoT) are stealing the magic essense of the marks and the abberant marks to power a spell to open a gate for other demons to come through. They have found this out and rushed down to the lower cogs to stop it. I left off with them surrounded by demons. :D Until now my world has been pretty black and white, here's where I'm going to throw in a twist, the emerald claw caught wind of this so they are sending down a bone knight to stop it (that will be the cavalry along with the rest of sharns fighting forces eventually). The reason they do this is because even they don't want a demon invasion. So my questions ares: 1) Does this seem forced? 2) Should I expand on it some how? 3) Should I change it to aid from the karrnath garrison instead of the emerald claw that they have been fighting alot up until this campaign? I was think of letting a major demon slip through that they will have to hunt down and the bone knight would aid them a bit in this quest because I am going to kill off the rogue/ info gatherer of the group (the npc/DMpc I meantioned earlier.) I'm killing him off so that they have to do the research and info gathering themselves.
Shady314 05-07-07, 04:15 PM	No it's not forced or hackneyed. It's actually a damn fine idea. Especially if you say they've been butting heads with them a lot. It won't be unusual at all now for them to show up. But when they turn their swords on their enemies instead of them it will be a good surprise for the PCs. Then comes the uneasy alliance. Eventually betrayal is of course inevitable. :) Perhaps the EC can be the ones to kill the rogue?

korcheck 05-09-07, 04:26 PM	Well last night fell through so I have another week to prepare for this game I think that Sharn shall have to fall to the demon invasion. I read on the boards somewhere that if within one year the face of eberron hasn't changed then there is something wrong. Well, it's been a year now real time and I smell a change I think. the question is where do I go to from here? PC's will fall, NPC's will die and new heroes will take their place, now I need some fluff, and suggestions for books. Should I by that vile darkness book with all the demon info or MM2, which would be better? any ideas how far I should go with this now that the characters are in the teens lvl wise I need this kind of a big challenge I think.

I try and help around here as much as possible with other peoples dilemmas, and feel that it is ok to get anything as long as it's a response. If it sucks say something, if it's great rub a persons ego a bit, if you have nothing, look at it and say there is nothing wrong. I say this about all threads not just this one granted if you flat out don't have an answer for a question then thats one thing but if some uses the board for what I believe it is meant for i.e. a sounding board for DM's and players for great (at least in that persons mind) ideas then give that person your 2 cents and you can expect to get a reponse yourself. Bottom line I guess is quit lurking and make these boards the best place to go for help and humor as they should be.
Shady314 05-12-07, 03:57 PM	Don't waste your money on the vile darkness book. I can't really suggest any particular book for monsters though. One would think if you need demons specifically then the Fiend Folio would be good but I've heard mixed messages on that. Just go to a nearby bookstore that has some and flip through them. This question usually garners a number of responses "What book should I buy for monsters specifically demons?" though you might want to make it a new topic. I wouldn't fret about the lack of responses. That's usually just a sign people approve of whatever it is you're doing. Say something controversial that upsets people and watch the responses flood in. :)
lds_soldier 05-13-07, 03:56 PM	Try the MM4, there are some very cool Dragonkin in there that I have used for a campaign in Argonesan, which is always a very cool place to get PC's involved in somehow since very little is known about it and sending them into the boondocks (especially unknown, frightening, unpredictable, dragon infested boondocks) is always fun. Not sure how that might help you, but I love the entire concept of that continent...Who knows, maybe Tiamut could be involved in your plot...???
