| Rechan09-12-05, 06:41 AM | As I woke up, I had an idea for a house rule. But it may be too broken, so I'll blame my half-asleep mind. ;) How does this sound: using x number of action points to emulate a feat you do not own, or avoiding an AoO. My reason for this is to do something suddenly amazing or unexpected, even to the character. Like say, dropping some action points to avoid an AoO on an unarmed strike so you can deck the BBEG just to deck him. Or so you can sunder an enemy's sword. I'm thinking that each feat can be emulated only once; that way it will avoid more munchkinism than if it was say, once per level. Meanwhile, avoiding an AoO for an action could be once per level. Is it broken? And how many action points should be used for feat emulation or avoiding AoOs? |

I own a lot of books, and I don't feel like slowing combat down anymore to let my players pick the one feat they want. Also, meeting all prerequisites should matter. If all feats were available, Greater Two Weapon Fighting, for instance, would be a much smarter choice than Lightning Reflexes. Otherwise, I like (read: am running away with in a burlap sack) this idea. |
