| Jayj04-21-06, 10:23 PM | I just finished an excursion to Dal Quor with the party I'm GMing. The method I used to get them into Dal Quor was to use a ritual spell (read Unearthed Arcana, or just say 'It's a spell that takes special knowledge, takes no spell slots, but takes a long time to cast and does only one thing'). The ritual spell basically sped up time by a factor of 8 within a small area, then merged that area with the ethereal plane. Meanwhile, some psions linked the mind of a dreaming person to the ethereal plane, and the ethereal took on the appearance of Dal Quor. The net effect is that anyone in the area of the ritual spell could ride along into the dreamer's dream... even those who were normally unable to, like Kalashtar, Elves, and Warforged. They weren't physically there, though; I followed all the rules presented in Dragon #324, including the fact that very, very few things can permanently hurt you while you're dreaming. I also prevented them from leaving the individual dream and entering Dal Quor proper. These can both easily handwaved, though. A suggestion: Require them to return to the individual's dream before they can leave Dal Quor and end the ritual spell, kind of like finding an Exit in the Matrix. - Jayj |
