Okay I started an Eberron campaign roughly a day ago. each of the party members recieved invitations from the wayfinder association i still have yet to decide if the wayfinder guild actually invited them or if another party is posing as the wayfinder guild to obtain their own ends.

So far the party met in wroat and departed on a private airship to stormhome the promise in the letters were gold and a membership to the wayfinders foundation. the occupants of the airship is the party the ship pilot harris d' lyrander. the captain Wilson ir' Dayne, Boroman ir' Dayne's nephew (Boroman for those who don't know is the founder of the wayfinder foundation) or is posing as Wilson ir' Dayne. The crew consists of a halfling scout Telmar Windfoot and a human artificer Rolen d' cannith.

There is also a elderly old man that constantly seems to appear and disappear he seems kind and warm hearted but the man is really The Traveler. The old man told the players of the story of Vol and the 13th moon and how both are tied in with the thirteenth moon that is no longer around. The main campaign may be both centered around the resurrection of Vol and the gate to dal quor being opened again. Currently though i need ideas for adventures in Stormhome.

But... wouldn't Ressurecting Vol kill her? I didn't think Dal Quor and Vol had anything to do with ... ah, nevermind.

Here is what you need to do. You need to decide HOW Whoever is doing whatever is doing what they are doing. How is Vol going to be resserected? Where is the gate to Dal Quor? Are the inspired involved? Do the Kalashatar know about this? If so, what are they doing to stop it?

It doesn't matter too much what happens on the first adventure, but you need to build in the hooks to get your story rolling, and in order to do that, you have to know what your villians are trying to do.

Try making a few Pirates of the Carribean jokes if you want a light-hearted start. I'd suggest seraching for a legendary island full of treasure, but one of the chests are cursed (a la Barbossa and his crew). If done right, it can even make the game dead serious with a sufficiently dangerous curse or horrifying search for the treasure. Although now that I think about it, that sounds more like a side- or sub- plot. But hey, it could still work.
