| Lord Psilos01-11-06, 05:01 PM | My friend wanted a new "world" book for Christmas, so I bought him the Eberron book. He now loves it, and is running games in it. He now wants me to run an Eberron campaign, and I'm borrowing his Eberron books. Here's my problem. I'm tired of the fact that every game I run, everyone who joins is a human. Well, upon chance, I stumbled upon the section of Droaam, and loved what I read. So, I thought about making a Droaam campaign. I'm looking for some ideas. I was thinking that maybe the party would be hired by House Denieth to help make inroads into Droaam, and their mining operations, all the while trying to improve their political standing by manipulating these monstrous dupes (aka the player characters). What I would like some help on some specific plot ideas, as well as a list of good, semi-standard monster races for Eberron. I don't want any uber-supernatural types, like Tieflings and the like. I plan to use the "alternate advancement for level adjusted characters" from Unearthed Arcana, so that'll help because I plan to start everyone at level 1. Maybe nothing with more than a collected ECL 3. So far, I'm thinking: Orcs, Half-Orcs, Shifters, Changelings, Goblins, Kobolds, Gnolls, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, and Kenku (MM3). Would Thri-kreen and Dromites be out of place? Ogres? Half-Ogres? Mongrelfolk? Any others? What about the Lupins and Tibbits from I'd like a pretty good list, so my players have some broad options, to keep them from complaining about the fact that I'm not allowing humans with their extra feat and skill points... |

Ogres and half ogres are not out of place, though ogres might be to high of an ECL (no books with me.) I'd also look into minatours, lots of folks like that race thanks to Dragon Lance. |
