In our last session we captured an airboat that we now want to sell. The problem is I can not find the cost of such an item in any book. A full airship is 92K but those are also 100ft long or something. The one we got holds 8 people only, more like a skiff, but it is an airboat (junior air elemental?). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you guys want to sell it? If you don't need a dragonmark to fly it, its an extremely usefully thing to have.

It'd prolly go for about 25k to a vendor, the lesser airskiffs go for about 50k I think.

On other threads it has been suggested that the price for various airboats is in the Explorers' Handbook. I do not have that one, but you might check there if you do.

We were making the arguemet that a flying carpet that holds 4 people (I think) cost 50K ish and our DM only wanted to give us 2500 for the boat that holds twice as many.

Granted, what the DM is trying to do is not give us tons of cash since we are only 6th level. If anything he has been keeping us fairly poor until this point.

Either way it doesn't really matter too much as if we are given too much money in his opinion he will just do something that cost everyone X amount of cash to equal it out (throws everyone in jail while in town due to some thieving act in the past done by the rogue in the party for example...oh wait, I'm the rogue hehe), but the point being we should reap the spoils of our quest.

One thought would be that you sell it to someone and then they pay you in installments. If they don't, come by and take it back from them.

Also, are you sure he's completely cool with you selling it? It smells of plot device to me (no pun intended).

We can only hope it is a plot device. Our group have all been playing for over a decade together now and we have reached the point where we figure out puzzles and plots fairly quickly...but still usually barrel our whay through situations, ie. trip most traps, get in fights we could avoid, take things we shouldn't etc...

If a plot develops from this I would say it is one he made up...he was not expecting us to actually get the boat to keep and/or even want it. He should not have thought this when we will sell rancid leather armor off of an undead skunk if someon will buy it.
