| keethor_smash09-14-05, 01:54 PM | I’m starting an Eberron campaign, I wanted to use forgotten forge as the beginning and then branch off with my own stuff after that. Then I realized that a few of my pc’s have checked out the adventure in the back of the book. So then I decided to play out the adventure from a different point of view. I’m having the pc’s write in the back stories. That they had a personal collection with Bonal, He would have had to do field work, so that’s would of how he met the pc’s. Pc’s would get summons from him meeting him at margrave university at midnight. On the way they would have encountered a crowd of people surrounding a crime scene but the city watch is keeping people away. But the pc’s have an appointment to make. When they get to margrave, Bonal’s aid Madeline tells them the grim news and hands them his will and a small box. In the will he tells the pc’s about the schema. And that what could happen if it fell into the wrong hands. Cannith has been after him for him to turn the schema over to them since it is an ancient Cannith schema. But Bonal hesitant to turn over the schema to them, fearing that it may bring about great destruction. Once the house of Cannith and the LoB agents find out that the pc’s were left in the will, they assume that they have the thing that they are looking for. Both will use any means to retrieve the real schema. From there I’m going to adjust the encounters to make them not like the original adventure. Also they may fight a rival party that is going through the forgotten forge adventure, working for Cannith I was wondering that any of you have any ideas of anymore groups becoming involved maybe the aurum seeing that they can make some money off of the schema if they utilized it. |

A rival of Bonals' might become interested. I applaud you for not using the "NPC hires the party" shtick. |

Maybe someone is trying to take credit for or stole Bonel's work, now they want to get the schema to take credit further or hide the fact they stole from Bonal. They could fund an opposing University expedition. What if a goblin who cleans the offices knew all about this and they were working for Dask(sp?) or someone in Dargun? Could be a bit of trouble if the players cross Dargun going to the FF and run into gangs trying to get the map from them? How big do you want these other groups? Maybe the 12 themselves are looking into what Merix was hiring Bonal for? Maybe the Arcane College who wants to reverse engineer warforged. |
| KeTHOR09-14-05, 04:48 PM | this is keethor_smash ... comp i posted used this acount any way Wow I'm digging the Rival Professor idea i may just, Size of the groups doesn't really matter, It’s eberron intrigue aplenty. Just need to think of some people to help them out since all of these Power groups will be after them. Probably the outcasts and dead beats of society, old washed up City watchmen. "Excoriate" of the house of cannith((yay double Cross)). Just need to figure out encounters now … I know I’m definitely having them try and steal the Schema from the “Pc’s” that fought cutlass. Stealing from other “good” characters, would be interesting since morally the shouldn’t out right kill them. :D well it is noir be funny what i could put them through. :schemes: keep 'em coming :D |
