What I am interested in exploring the possibilities of is the concept of warforged instead of being constructs that emerge fully from the forge, warforged are actually human soldiers who have fallen in battle and then were placed in the bodies of those machines that we know and love today. It almost completely invalidates the information that's already given about warforged as presented already but it strikes me as an interesting alternative to performing the campaign the 'normal' way and I was interested in what people thought of the idea. The warforged would cease to be a "new race" as things went in terms of warforged's relations but instead be something more akin to a form of undead that nevertheless has been ressurected through methods of machinery rather than through necromancy. Fully intelligent, they'd be people who have to suddenly cope with the loss of the majority of their sensation's 'sharpness' and all the pleasures of the human body even as they also have gained vast amounts of things like virtual immortality. They would be very strongly, the most shattered remnants of the last war. |

In my world to make a golem required a persons soul. the old body was destroyed in the transformation trapping the person in the new golem body. There was alot of science ie steampunk in the caimpaign as well as magic. So the Golems Had cannons or alchemist fire throwers ext.. It was a fun game. After the war most of the golems where shunned if not actively delt with because they represented a danger to society at large. Some went insane and huanted around old battles or broken down fortifications. |
