Amazon.com and the ECS [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-16-04, 06:05 PM so i ordered my ECS uber-cheap from amazon back on the 6th of june (with free shipping), and have been periodically checking on it to see what is happening.
back last weekend, the ECS went from pre-order to buy on thier website. it says that most orders ship within 24 hours.

i now check on my preferences, and am surprised to learn that my book is slated to ship in the 28th of june. why is it that someone who orders now gets it within a week, but i, who pre-ordered have to wait 3?

has this happened to anyone else?

06-16-04, 07:01 PM My order from Amazon has been shipped (as of June 15), and is on its way. I also ordered a copy from B&N, and it is also on its way (June 16).

06-16-04, 08:12 PM oops... ok, i found what i did wrong, i upgraded the shipping and it's leaving the warehouse tommorrow.

a word to the wise though:
if you want your ECS this month, dont order it from amazon with free shipping.

A word to the (recently un-)wise:
I've never failed to get a WotC book from Amazon within 4 business days of ordering it - with free shipping. Chances are you would've had your ECS in hand a week or two before the listed date; Amazon just wildly overestimates.

06-16-04, 08:41 PM I had a problem with Booksamillion.com where I preordered Eberron back in Janurary (I knew it was gonna be awesome even then). Then they droped the price by about 2 bucks, and my order never went through for like 2 weeks, even though they said "ships in 2 to 3 days".

I eventually had to email them about it and they had to cancel my order and place a new one for me.

06-17-04, 12:42 AM I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, with two-day shipping and House Orien had it on my doorstep on Mol, Nymm 13th, day after my birthday!

I had a similar experience. Pre-ordered it on the 3rd, got an email that said it would be shipped on the 11th, got it the 14th....
