| Web_Dancer02-28-05, 08:21 PM | Now I am far more of a FR junkie myself, but Eberron would be far more suited to a comic book with its pulp noir genre and dark feel, not to mention the already comicbook-like art covering the chapters in the book. So what do you guys(and gals) think of this idea? I for one would definetly be excited to see something like this, especialy if it was drawn by the people who drew the original Eberron art. |
| Vharuck02-28-05, 08:25 PM | Yeah! I really liked those pictures in the ECS, and man did I want to know more about those guys. Pick one! I'll read anything! |
| SirLoin02-28-05, 08:30 PM | I definately would buy it. I would just hope it did not get as silly as the Dungeons and Dragons comic. One of the D&D issue was actually titled "Attack of the Lawyers Guild" or some nonsense like that. I think that was the last issue I ever bought. |
| JohnSnow02-28-05, 08:31 PM | I actually could get into this, and I more or less stopped collecting comics. I've actually read several comics that evoked the feel of Eberron very well, and if any of those artists could be recruited, I think it would rock. Since Hasbro has had previous relations with both Marvel and Image for comics (G.I. Joe), I'd say that's an option. Of course, CrossGen already does a lot of books that match the genre (Scion, for example). Of course, Kenzer and Company produces comic books, and there's no reason I can think of why they couldn't do an Eberron comic. Then again, there's also Paizo....hmmm. |
| Flame_Drake02-28-05, 09:38 PM | And then there are the webcomic idea that I have been toying with... Drake |
| Edymnion02-28-05, 09:43 PM | I could definately see buying an Eberron comic. Or reading a web comic. Hey, we could always get Rich Burlew* to illustrate it! *for those that don't know, Rich Burlew does the Order of the Stick web comic, and is also the one that came in second place in the settings search. I'm sure you can do the math to understand why this is funny now that you know ;) |
| Gurv02-28-05, 09:52 PM | Or reading a web comic. Hey, we could always get Rich Burlew* to illustrate it! Right. The self-proclaimed archnemisis of Keith Baker. That would be rather interested in itself. |
| Vharuck02-28-05, 10:16 PM | What if the comics were non-sequential (some could be), but instead each an adventure in and of themselves, drawn by various artists that fit into Eberron's style? |
| Bubba33302-28-05, 10:22 PM | Right. The self-proclaimed archnemisis of Keith Baker. That would be rather interested in itself. He is? Who is? Is that a joke? |
| Flame_Drake02-28-05, 11:01 PM | He is? Who is? Is that a joke? Yes (http://www.bossythecow.com/links.htm), Rich Burlew (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20021209b), NO (http://www.giantitp.com/thegiant.html) :P Drake |
| GoodGuy8903-01-05, 02:25 PM | http://www.bossythecow.com/genconphoto5.htm "The hearty handshake..." On topic, I would absolutely buy an Eberron comic book, both as a continued series, or mini-adventures. Awesome... |
| Joni-san03-01-05, 05:36 PM | On another note, a Graphical Novel* based on some future Eberron (stand alone?) book would be nice. If we were really lucky they could even include a poster made by Darren M.A. Calvert :D If they'd make a Eberron comic I'd buy every issue :) *Like the Graphical Novels based on Terry Prathett's books. The Colour of Magic, The Light Fantastic and Mort have been converted quite nicely IMO |
| Web_Dancer03-02-05, 07:36 PM | I wonder if WOTC was already considering it, that would be cool. |
